Hotel Oxford — Hotel in Oxford

Our booking was based on finding a place to stay with our grandchildren. We chose this hotel because of the lovely picture of the pool on the website. We were soon to find that this was not the only item misrepresented. There were a few other items in the room that were not safe There was not a covering on the light fixture in the bathroom and the safety bar in the shower was hanging on the tub enclosure which was cracked and away from the wall. The safety latch on the room door was missing. That is just the beginning. I went to the front desk but there was no one there. The entire site was run down and it was obvious that the owner had no interest in any changes.|If we had an alternative, we would have left immediately but it was an event weekend in town. Attempted to be compensated but...

This hotel is the filthiest place I have ever stayed in. The sheets were clean, but that’s about it. There were stains on the comforter, mysterious splatters all over the walls, urine dribbled down the front of the toilet. The bathroom doorknob was broken, the ottoman was literally falling apart in pieces and the tv cabinet was missing its doors. There was a hole in the wall where the doorknob had hit and someone had stuffed it full of toilet paper instead of fixing it.

I’m not above staying at cheap motels, but I’ve never experienced anything this foul. Worst of all it was $200 for the night! The manager should be ashamed.

I get that this is a bare bones operation type motel but it's kind of sad when the room has coffee cups and no coffee maker. The bath tub had black marks all on the bottom, not sure what it was but it looked nasty so we did not use the showers. We decided to wait until we drove back home to clean up. The couch also had black marks on it. It smelled like whatever cleaner they use in nursing homes. Was quiet and close to the interstate so that's a plus, but for $140 plus $100 deposit, I don't think I could ever...
