Friendly!!! On our visit we were not looking for anything specific, but were just doing some homework for a future purchase. Upon entering the lobby were were greeted with a warm smile and a short pleasant conversation from the door greeter. The front of the store had, as many retailers do, seasonal items on display. We browsed through the showcased offers and deals then made our way into the store. The store was neat and tidy, and most all employees were busy at work stocking and organizing their specific areas. We stopped and asked for assistance from one employee, she was nice and gave us exact accurate information we requested. Once we were in the area that we needed to gather product information on, two employees greeted us offering assistance. We explained that we were researching and comparing quality and prices over several stores. We asked about price matching, and the department manager looked at our information and offered a price match. Because of the friendliness of this staff and store in whole, we decided to make our purchase here, sometimes customer service is worth more than getting the best deal! Walking away with a smile is important to us as it is most people. We have dealt in most part of our adult life with the main competitor of Home Depot, and after a few bad experiences a year ago we decided to start using Home Depot. We are happy with the overall customer service that Home Depot offers both prior and post sale. Both competitors offer pretty much the same products, its the customer service that in our opinion that sway patronage. This store offers a great selection of items. Although, smaller than some of the other Home Depot stores in north Florida, we consider this one atop our favorites list. Access to the store from the main throughways of Palatka is simple, and parking is great for most all vehicles. Based on outstanding visits over the past few years, we will definitely...
Read moreI went to Home Depot looking for window glaze caulk when I couldn't find it at Walmart. A female employee saw me looking in the caulk aisle & asked what I was looking for. She looked too and a male who maybe worked there but was purchasing something at the paint counter joined the search. He suggested Ace Hardware. But he looked on a different wall across the aisle and said here it is. He was correct and it had the special square shaped dispensing nozzle. He seemed knowledgeable about it so I asked if my neighbor was right that I didn't need points with that type of caulk. He disagreed and said the points are what hold the glass in if the putty ages and starts falling out. I asked about the proper angle to get with that head so water drains away and he said I had it right. I was very happy to have run into him where I not only didn't have to look in a third store but got assistance in how to replace the broken window glass myself. I was a little shocked when it was over $9 for one caulk since I will need several more to do all of the windows in my house. Now I need to get the glass measurement close enough that the glass fits inside the frame and isn't too narrow or wide. I appreciate stores that actually try to help me and answer my questions. I had watched a few YouTube videos on replacing glass before I went to the stores so I was more informed. I used cardboard boxes duct taped on the inside, then a spare piece of plywood outside to keep my cats & dog in the house until the glass is back. A cat broke it pawing at a lizard. And unlike at Walmart I was second in a line to pay with a friendly cashier and out of there quickly. As I was exiting a young girl employee took out her phone to show me there is sticky tape for cats to learn not to scratch on surfaces which I could order online. My broken...
Read moreOk I've tried to be forgiving and it isnt helping. Three times I've gone to curbside pickup after being notified my order was ready. Three times I clicked the "let us know you're here" link. Three times I have called the number and told them what spot I am in. And three times no one has showed up with my order even after waiting 15 minutes or more.. Three times I have had to go into the store to find out where it is and if I could possibly get someone to bring it to me. And three times I have had to wait 15 minutes or more for them to locate it.. And all three times I have been handed my giant order inside without anyone bothering to offer to help go load it so I loaded all my stuff into my van myself. I'm guessing this is a Palatka thing, bcz Ive never had problems like this at any other HD.
Next issue. 2nd time a salesperson has misrepresented a product. Two different people, both in the lighting section, two different trips and products. Both needing to be returned bcz of it. The 2nd time I even stopped before I left the aisle and asked, do I need anything else for this to work? Special bulbs? Or adapter? "Nope just plug it in." REALLY? You handed me a fixture that has to be hard-wired into the ceiling when I asked for a standard outlet shop light and wanted the brightest one you had. I am feeling like I'm not speaking English when I go there....
