Although the important parts of the room were clean, the room was very old and dirty in other ways. The carpet was very dirty and sticky. We did not walk on that floor barefoot at all. The walls were very dirty with marks as if someone has thrown suitcases around, a simple repaint of the walls and it would be amazing. The phone to call downstairs wasn’t plugged in nor did it have a phone cord to plug it in to. We had cell phones so not a big deal. The tv screen was broken so watching tv was a bit rough along with the fact it was very basic cable. A smart tv so guests can sign in to their own streaming accounts would be amazing. The bathroom door was unable to close all the way due to the threshold was too thick for the door to go over it. The curtain rod was barely hanging on. Due to it drooping so much the shower curtain kept trying to go to the middle while showering making it very hard to shower and not get water everywhere outside the shower. There was also tile missing from the bathroom behind the door. The lamps were very old to the point they had rust on them and one of the two didn’t have a bulb in it. The sheets on the bed had stains on them. They were clean but just had stains which means they should have been tossed not put on a bed. It was a quiet hotel. The staff were very kind and polite. The free breakfast is nothing more than expected for a free breakfast so can’t complain there. However in the room for breakfast (banquet room) was half full of mattresses (seemed new as they had plastic on them). There was only one ice machine, however on every floor it’s labeled as having one. So we had to walk around looking for it, it’s on the first floor by the way. A note/sign or having the front desk person letting us know would have been nice so we didn’t walk the entire hotel searching for ice. The biggest issue was more that the picture on the website looks nothing like the actual room. Maybe they were remodeling, but if that’s the case I would have liked to know that and been put in a room that was remodeled already opposed to one that was very old and outdated for the...
Read more1 washer, 1 drying for guests to use, the detergent dispenser was empty with a "not new" note on it saying empty, so it's not being refilled. Went to front desk to ask to buy detergent and was told they didn't have any for sale.
The 3rd floor smelled damp and where the vending and ice should be was a non working (off?) Dehumidifier that had a tube running down the drain where the ice machine was. The breakfast was just sad, if you don't drink coffee, you had water or a single choice.of juice. First breakfast was cranberry where I don't like. Offered cold water and could get hot water from coffee machine e but not even hot chocolate available. 2nd breakfast, I didnt eat but they had machine dispensed orange juice which I did have. The breakfast area was bing used for storage of a clothes washing machine, some mattress and.other remodel stuff. Honestly it just looked like a goodwill sale area.
The hallway on 3rd floor was very uneven you could see it and feel it as you walked down it. Also 3rd floor the plastic corner guards in the hallway, were clear and then painted.to match the wall color, bit quite a few were scraped or scratched up where the clear plastic showed. While not major damage, it just appeared showed lack of upkeep or maintenance
The room, dirt (mildew) on bathroom floor along edges and just outside shower. The body wash was empty when I got there. One tall lamp had a light and socket hanging by electrical wires and no switch to turn off or on so not really usable. Also the shower was HOT, actually uncomfortable which I would put as a compliment except when you even turned it off of full hot even slightly, you got a significant loss of pressure. (Room 117)
What was good was the staff, polite, nice and helpful, no complaints there.
I have been been to other sleep inns and this while generally not BAD, it felt neglected and just generally sad. I will most likely not going to stay at this particular...
Read moreI did not hav a problem with the staff, the problem was with the hotel experience. I checked in at 11pm and the lady was very kind and firendly. When I went to the room the first thing that hit me was the aquavelva smell and the strong urine smell. Before turning on the light I noticed there was pee in the toilet and when I glanced across the room it had not been cleaned at all. I went back to the front desk and when she looked up other rooms, there was not a clean room available, so she had to give me a suite. The suite was clean, but when I went to close the shades, I noticed the floor in front of the A/C unit was really wet. I called the front desk to let them know and asked them to take care of it in the morning, since it was so late. The next day I went to take a shower, but the shower head was broken and would not stay up. I called the front desk and maintenance was there quickly and did a great job. The next day I woke up to someone walking very loudly upstairs from me. When I went to go into the bathroom, it smelled as if someone was sitting in it smoking. I couldn't breathe and I walked outside to make sure I was in a non-smoking area. I was, but I hope the room upstairs from me was as well since smoke would obviously travel through the vents. After 10mins, I heard the shower come on upstairs and figured the person was done smoking. I waited a little longer to let the air clear then started my own shower. The water was fine, got in and with-in 2 mins, the water turned ice clod and I had to finish my shower freezing cold. A receipt was not delivered to my door and upon check out, I was not asked how my experience was. If I was asked, I would have been able to say this to them and not have to wait for a survey or post something negative on a website. Due to this experience, I would not recommend the hotel and the next time I am up there for business, I will try out the Holiday...
