Krystal — Restaurant in Palatka

After a VERY long day on the road, we rolled through Palatka and the only place open to eat (on our way home) was Krystals. We were pulling an empty 43' trailer and the building was locked. My husband went up to the door and they told him to walk around and order at the drive up window. There was a few cars ahead of him, he ordered and we waited, waited, waited (we ordered 3 cheeseburgers and 1 chicken sandwich) and waited. What we were hoping was a fairly quick in and out....NOT! We arrived shortly before midnight and finally got our food about 45 min later!!!! That's ridiculous to say the least. They would come out about every 15 min a hand a small bag to the cars waiting. One girl was so upset she got out of her car and went to the front and entered the door. You could see she was upset (we don't blame her) as she had by then waited 30 minutes. They said they were going to call the cops as she was trespassing. You could here all that was being said sitting outside in our vehicle. To us, it's a public restaurant and if they forgot to lock the door...then it's not trespassing to us. I agree with the other review as they seem to work at a snails pace. The order wasn't THAT difficult and it took WAY to long for FAST FOOD??? Nothing FAST there!!

This was a BIG mistake! The food was mediocre, the service was next to non - existant (though the older gentleman that was actually working at the counter was at least trying). There were only 2 other tables being used when we walked in and one of those already had their food. The other was an older couple that had not yet gotten there order yet. We ordered and were told to have a seat, it would be brought out to us. As we are waiting, I start looking around and can't believe what I am seeing. This place is so nasty and filthy that the unused seats at our table were bkack and sticky from oil and dirt. Same goes for places around where we're sitting on the walls and edges of tables. You don't even want to know what the air ducts above your head look like either. Before we got our food brought out a couple of women walked in that were apparently known by workers in the back who came out to speak with them. They were served and gone in about 10 mins. You notice we still have'nt gotten our food yet, right? We sat there close to 15 minutes before that happened, just looking around...

I haven't been there for a few years. The last burger I ate there was good, had lots of toppings. This time I order a cheeseburger, tots, and diet coke. The burger was so bad that I literally stared at it wondering what on earth was on my bun. The bun itself was pretty small, and the meat (?) was even smaller. It was literally only about a 1/4 inch thick. It was gray, like it had been soaking in water. The onions were dehydrated (probably soaking with the burger). It then was topped with cheese sauce. Not a slice...sauce. It was like a cheese sandwich with a sort-of-meat nugget in the middle. The tots were very tasty, but I would have liked more than 5. The diet Coke was perfect, but again, small. On the plus side, the staff was very pleasant and did a good job. Kudos to them for working there, I'm guessing they get yelled at by angry customers on a regular basis. Bottom line, I would go without before I eat there again. I could have gotten a filling, and identifiable, meal for the same price at any other fast food place. Next...
