It was not up to par really Pleasant atmosphere, even with a 30 top that sat 10 mins before my party of 2. Service was slow and no manager visits like other longhorns typically do. The party of 30 is not what made the restaurant move so slowly as they had plenty of wait staff working that section, no one in that place had any since of urgency. The hostess was pleasant so to speak and trying to do bus the tables with another lady I'm assuming in management. It was kind of like once the tables guest left the servers just let it sit there for them to clean up. No one had no upbeat personality, like they were all just in robot mode. They were out the chicken bites early on in the evening (before 6pm) So I selected my second favorite, the Texas Tonion, which seemed a little salty for some reason. I ordered the long pour margarita and wanted a straw after 45 mins and 3 severs later I finally got a straw. The severs that weren't for our table seemed mad or just plain with no expression of the sorts. Anyways I ordered the 9oz Flo with parmcrust med rare with ceaser salad and fries. The hubby got the ribs and parmcrust chicken with Ceasar salad and rice. The steak came out med well and the chicken was dry and the salad a little dry as well. We didn't get asked how the food was or if the steak was right or if I wanted ketchup for the fries, it was rather really difficult to get a servers attention bc our server was never anywhere to be found. My husbands sweet tea was brought to the table by our server and then we didn't see him until the bread was brought out, then my drink was brought over from someone else and I asked for a straw but was never brought one, 30 mins later I asked a waitress we spotted since ours was MIA still 30 minutes later and she never brought one by. So 45 minutes later we spot our sever finally and I finally got a straw after 50 mins of sitting at the table with my drink. I'm pretty sure we saw our server 4 times the 2 hours we were there, at the plain greeting when he took our order because we already knew what we wanted, when he brought the bread and my husbands drink and when he brought our food out and ran pretty much. We had to flag him down to get our check pretty much. Now it wasn't such a horrible experience we wouldn't return, but I would be more cautious on my next visit My suggestion is that your staff should to be more attentive to the guest and check on their tables especially after the food is delivered, not drop it off and run so to speak. I could of wanted ketchup for my French fries or something. If a customer is ordering a steak then the server should make sure it was cooked properly as I could of showed the kitchen how to cook the steak myself and probably taught them a thing or 2 on how to properly check temps on steaks. The should not cook the chicken so much that its not edible, it like the put a iron on it to have it cook faster and forgot about, the ribs were ok but close to over done as well. It was the first visit to this location and trust me I understand it was possible you were short staffed plus the large party of 30 could have backed the kitchen up, but I ordered a med-rare steak and longhorn never disappoints no matter the location I've been to. I would of spoke to a manager but it wasn't to great of a big deal to have a discussion as I wasn't looking for a discount, plus I didn't want to wait to try and find one as the place just was in slow motion the whole time. But they should definitely be more alert and...
Read moreMy family and I have ate at the Longhorn in Gainesville several times, so we already know their steaks are good. So tonight we wanted to try new items. We ordered takeout online because it is Halloween and we figured they would be swamped inside. We made our order around 5 and it was ready by 6pm. Not too bad considering we had a large order (5 meals) and its Halloween. So I ordered the ribs & chicken meal with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, my daughters both ordered chicken strips, fries, and mac and cheese. My son ordered the LH bacon burger and fries and my husband ordered the chopped steak with mashed potatoes and brussle sprouts. First, the to-go portions are huge. I think we got way more food this way than eating inside. The bowls of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were overflowing. Could easily split them all up into multiple meals if you wanted too. My chicken was a little on the salty side, but i'm sensitive to a lot of salt. It was however really juicy and tasted good. Their ribs were fall off the bone and their bbq sauce tasted good, like it had steak sauce mixed in it. My husband enjoyed his chopped steak with mushrooms and onions but he REALLY loved the crispy brussle sprouts. Over all we really enjoyed it. We welcome all new businesses to come to Palatka. Anything that brings more variety and more JOBS. We appreciate the hard work that food workers put in. My husband works across the parking lot at Sonnys BBq, so I know how hard they work. So we gave them a 30% tip. PLEASE tip. I believe you get better service when you're known as a good tipper. And these people work hard. If your food is good, let them know you appreciate it. In todays time, people can stay home and make more money than going to work. So stop punishing people who work for a living. If you can't afford to tip, you shouldn't eat out. Stop treating people horribly, all of you Karens out there! Stop terrorizing workers and then complaining because service is slow or they are understaffed. Thank you to the whole staff for making our food fresh, hot, and delicious. I forgot to take photos when I got my food cause I was excited to dig in. So here is a picture of everything after I ate over half of it. As you can see, the sides still look full and there's still more meat on these bones and more chicken here. It will take days for me to finish all this. And...
Read moreWe, party of 4..and child, arrived and we were seated as soon as possible. Definitely suggest to check in online first during busy times. All ordered steaks, all different. Turns out two steaks, different cuts, had the same seasoning. As same with the other two steaks and seasoning. Mine and other steak, also another cut of steak, had the same seasoning. Which was waaaay to peppery. Like Steve Wonder was back there cooking. Informed waiter, Adam/Alex cant remember, he brought manager, Melissa. She was apologetic and offered to cook steaks again with less seasoning. When steaks came out she brought them herself apologizing that two of my steaks were cooked instead of two different cuts. As I said she apologized again and said they would put together two more dinners to go the correct cuts, seasoning, and all the fixings. Now with all that she still gave us some 10$ off meal coupons. To which we all replied that they had already done enough. She wouldn't take no for an answer, then to "sweeten the deal" she took two messed up meals off. Now, if you count that up that was 8 steaks that came to the table! After all that I would like to say, server and manager were absolutely awesome about the whole thing. Now my question is, did manager take the hit for her grill, or did she mess up with cuts for second round without as much seasoning. Either way, I'm pleased to see that "the customer is always right" some situations is still alive and well. She didn't have to go through the lengths she did. Nice to know that WHEN I return with family/friends that I know that things will be done to make sure that all members of party will be respected and taken care of. Thank you Longhorns, keep up...
