Aida, I'm not sure how to spell it. Aieda. Was an excellent coach. We ( Caitlin Crenshaw & I) did strength training, it was amazing. I almost cried. There was some tough love. Ada was absolutely stunning being her age and exercising with us. I'm very impressed with the enthusiasm with everyone in the class. Antonio or Anthony, the receptionist was very welcoming and warm, and now he's my new friend. Also the merchandise looked good. I can't wait to take my next yoga class and buy some merch and share the location to everyone I know. Everyone's going to ask me why I am so happy. I will say: go to Yoga Six by One Quail and Fred Waring DR.

Debbie is in my yoga opinion is the only legitimate yoga instructor in palm desert. To me yoga is not an exercise. It is a body and mind practice. Debbie's practice is a body and mind yoga. In addition She knows the alignment. She's not just talking she's instructing and guiding the practitioners. She's a Debbie Ji for me.

Thank you Mae for being so welcoming to a great Restore class. It was exactly what I needed and it lived up to its name. Namaste. Debbie from Kirkland

10/2022 I left the below review 6 months ago. Let’s take a moment to provide an example of extremely poor management: Owner responds to my review 6 months later, claiming that I never took Susan’s class. I apologize to Susan, that this yoga studio owner chooses to conduct business like this. That instead of behave responsibly (i.e. develop problem-solving solutions, considering the well-being of customers), just accuse them of lying, while displaying complete disregard for them as a yoga practitioner. News flash: I did take Susan’s class. And the owner was there present, I believe his name was Jason. Jason was quick to explain after the class to the participants the amount of value we were getting, by incorporating 3 different yoga styles into one. The ā€˜value’ I got was lots of knee pain. I knew during the class that the suggested motions seemed improper in combination, but I went through with them anyway. I learned from this process, to have more courage in not continuing motions that I believe may result in pain.

I experienced knee pain from an improper combination of yoga styles instructed by your studio. I recall there was power and stretching in the session. There were postures taken from bikram, and combined with power flow moves. The bikram postures are always a consistent flow, for a reason. They are also always in a heated setting. This class was not heated. I have taken many bikram-style classes over the course of several years (mostly in orange county) and am well versed in the postures. I would never raise issue to any class taught in a traditional way, whether I experience pain or not. I’m not that type of person.

This was different. This caught me by surprise. The class was presented as a beginner/basic, and the instructor chose to improvise by randomly throwing in different postures from different styles. I believe her intention was to challenge the people she saw in front of her who showed up. And that cost me lots of pain in my knee, which I could have very well done without!

And I hope by your claim that your studio puts out a modern twist, that you don’t disregard thousands of years of knowledge and tradition (from the East). Perhaps if your studio was more inclusive of this, the quality of your product would increase as well, and I could have avoided this unnecessary pain.

Again, sorry to Susan that there’s an owner out there who feels the need to rehash a customer issue 6 months later, by accusing them of lying.

Advice to owner: Act like you care about your customers. Take the time you spend accusing them of lying on review sites, and allocate it towards coming up with real, adequate solutions. Feedback is a gift. You should know this.

4/2022: Supposed to be a basic/beginner session, Susan improvised and ended up incorporating 3 different styles of class into one (power, stretching, etc.), that resulted in a lot of knee pain for me. I wish it would have been basic, which would have been appropriate. And maybe the lady participant of older age wouldn’t have left mid-session in disgust.

p.s. their $26 free week trial is a generous offer. But the generosity ends there. $25 for a drop-in (rip off), and the recently raised unlimited yoga package will set you back $136/mo. Ownership seems greedy.

However, with that said, both May and Yani are amazing instructors, both of whom I’d highly recommend. I just wanted to mention this, as I was just taken aback by other facets I...

Edit: replying to the ā€œOwnerā€. I arrived promptly 10mins as instructed by the receptionist whom I called the day prior, from the number I got off your website. Ignorance is an opportunity to learn, but instead you take the opportunity to lie about the only person who bothers to give you criticism - a common logical fallacy used by those who cannot confront their own shortcomings and instead attack the speaker. I empathize it is difficult to face your own biases, however i hope you eventually learn that just because your studio is clean and teachers are nice, doesn’t mean you are free from criticism. I hope this owner becomes self-aware enough of their imperfections and takes more than an online yoga certification before reducing the, again, over 4000 years of yoga to a lazy sequence of 3 poses. (The guests you teach are also predominantly white, as palm desert’s population is, and so relying on them to tell you you don’t know what you’re doing is backwards).

This studio offers a superficial white-washed version of yoga. From the top 100 pop song playlist to the same 3 poses for 30 mins, it’s clear they are catering to an ignorant white customer base. I recommend the instructor (and studio) do a bit more research into the history of yoga, sequences and it’s fundamentals. Yoga has a 4000 year history and somehow this studio has reduced it to 5 poses, essential oils, mindlessness for an hour....

I’m from out of town and used Class Pass to make a reservation for a 4:30p class with Tom Mallet. I drove 30 mins to the studio and arrived 10 mins early; however, upon walking the sidewalk up and down I was unable to find the studio. I called the studio, at which point they described where they were located. Note: it is NOT next to Nordstrom Rack as Google Maps and Class Pass maps will demonstrate. I got into my vehicle and drove down the strip mall to the studio. I did walk through the door between 4:30p and 4:31p. Upon entering the building I was informed that Tom Mallet had specifically stated I was not permitted into class since I did not arrive a few mins early. I confirmed that they knew I was the individual who had called for detailed instructions to the studio. It was such a deflating experience driving away. All other Yoga Six studios I’ve been to have fostered compassion and human decency, but certainly not this studio. I have contacted Class Pass and Yoga Six franchise headquarters to discuss this issue. I would not recommend this studio if you’re looking for decency or a strong, connected yoga community demonstrated by your...
