Islands — Restaurant in Palm Desert

Really disappointed tonight at this particular location. One star because the service, food, & management was very poorly in action tonight 3/25/17. The only positive experience was being seated by the friendly host. Tonight my Husband & I just ordered the Buffalo wings. When we first sat down it took about 5 mins to be greeted, fine I understand no biggie. But what was really upsetting is the dried out & burnt buffalo wings. I have been craving these for so long! Islands is one of my favorite places for wings. Still is but just NOT THIS location. It took about 20 mins for our wings to arrive; we tell our server that they were not appetizing at all, clearly burnt, dry, and hardly any sauce on them. So she stands at our table about to take the wings back. But then she noticed her manager near by and started calling for him... I assume to tell him of the issue. Needless to say, he never even came over to our table and just avoided eye contact the rest of our visit. I wasn't even mad. So it took another 20 mins for them to come out, we literally almost left at this point because the wings came out the exact same way! But we were staving. Burnt, skimpy, dry Buffalo wings were NOT worth the $13.19 we spent. Server wasn't sincere or tentative. Management hid. Cooks couldn't fry then toss some wings in sauce. Horrible. Definitely WON'T be returning to this...

We went here because of the good reviews. Our experience was bad. I am not bashing them in hopes of getting some free handout....we are out of towners and will not be returning. Hoping to save someone else from a lousy $70 lunch. They said they were shorthanded, and did not seat the whole restaurant, understandable. We waited 20 mins, no problem. We ordered We ordered a margarita each, water, one of their mexican bowls, a quesidilla, and some fried green beans. The green beans were actually good, not too greasy and they were tasty. We almost finished them before we waved down a waiter and asked if we could atleast get the water. Margaritas showed up soon after, nothing special about them. My chili bowl was just bad. Flavor was off, not at all enjoyable. Old tough cabbage on top of white rice and black beans. There were some chips on top. I ate about 3 bites, and no one asked about it. My guest's $12 quesidilla was just cheese in flour tortillas with a side of sour cream. Waitress was flighty and inattentive. Up side, interior was nice and it looked clean. PASS...

We used to love this restaurant in the past. They've messed up my order and then they made it right so I thought you know I'm going to give it another chance and go back because they have the best burgers and maybe things have changed. So I ordered my food. I ordered my fries while done so they didn't get soggy. They were just regular fries. When I received them I ordered a salad. There was no salad dressing and they forgot some of my burger toppings. I made this order through doordash and when I called to talk to the manager to tell him about my experience he said well you're going to have to take that up with doordash, not us and ask for your refund. I said I don't want a refund I just want the stuff that I ordered to be right. He asked for my address and told me that he would send me something for my troubles and gave him my address. A month has gone by and I still have yet to receive it.... Super disappointed. Next time I'll just listen to my husband and just...
