Best part of the place was the atmosphere, but if your into poor quality service, long waits (even when slow), incorrect orders, and low quality adult drinks this is your place.
we wanted to visit since we are big fans of the boiling crab and hoped this would be something similar. Service was poor, took over 20 minutes for anyone to greet us after being seated. we were about to leave when the server showed up, she seems inexperienced- maybe new, when asking her about the menu she was very uninformed. we ordered and she got the food incorrect, she was confident and challenged us by saying "no, its correct, do you want to see the bill" as if the bill was going to tell us if our actual food was correct?
Shortly after she comes back and says "my bad, it looks like i did get it wrong, your correct food will be right out" she offered to bring my child ketchup, but never came back with it. i had to ask an older lady picking up the tables for it. i got my adult drink to only find it tasting diluted, and lower quality alcohol. which then gave me a headache throughout the day.
As far as the food, it was disappointed. if you have ever had the boiling crab which is what i would recommend instead of this place, you would find that this is a copy of it just extremely diluted. feels like they try to stretch the cost of food by adding tons of water and no seasoning to their boil. The wax paper is already on your table by the time you get to it instead of a freshly placed one every time a new customer sits down. this allows for dust and debris to get on it. think about that next time you place your food on that table. Last note about the food, No spice and Mild were exactly the same. not sure if the server messed that up as well or the cost saving of their quality of food was a factor.
Moral of the story, if you want to see some nice atmosphere this is your place, if your trying to get diluted seafood boil, poor quality service, headaches from low quality alcohol, and your order wrong, this is your place.
Do yourself and your family a favor, try a good seafood boil like the boiling crab or similar, you will actually have a good experience and your money's worth. If you have no taste buds, no perception of time, like to gamble when ordering, and no self respect, this...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Pier 88 Sunday 4/07/2024 at about 3 PM Before we went there, I looked online to get an idea of what to order our kids because I have four Little kids and my husband and I online it says all day Sunday is happy hour when I got to the restaurant to my surprise there is no happy hour on Sundays it’s only Monday -Fridays. They apparently changed that but didn’t change it on their website. That was the first red flag. So since it was lunch time I tried to order lunch specials and my host who by the way was taking care of every table said that’s only on weekdays as well although it doesn’t state that on their menu. So they had no Happy hour Sunday to my surprise you cannot even purchase lunch specials on weekends.I asked my host could I speak to the manager, apparently their false advertising or falsifying information to get people restaurant my surprise the manager wasn’t there at the time I wanna write a review to let every parent / family know not to take your family there on the weekend because apparently they’re online information is completely wrong. They have no kids meals and no lunch special for kids so save your time and your money. My kids were really looking forward to seafood for us to have to leave so we took them to the movie and went to Mr. Claws in Cathedral city, much better service and a bigger variety on their menu...
Read moreI had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at Pier 88 Seafood. What was supposed to be a fun seafood night with my family turned into a humiliating, disrespectful, and downright disgusting experience — all thanks to the manager.
I ordered half a pound of crawfish, and at least six of them were nothing but heads — no meat at all. When I politely brought this to the staff’s attention, the manager stormed out of the kitchen with what looked like gallons of crawfish, held them over my baby’s head, and accused me of lying. Yes — she literally hovered a tray of food over my CHILD while calling me dishonest in front of the entire restaurant. Who does that?
She had no professionalism, no manners, and absolutely no respect. When we asked for her name, she refused to give it to us. One of the servers had to come and whisper it to us after the manager ran off and refused to come back to our table. As a “resolution,” she offered us $1.40 off our bill — after humiliating me, calling me a liar, and putting my baby in a completely inappropriate and unsafe situation.
This place is beyond unprofessional. I left feeling angry, embarrassed, and disgusted. I will never step foot in this restaurant again and I hope management seriously reconsiders who they put in charge. Nobody deserves to be treated the way we were.
Save yourself the trauma. Eat...
