I do love this store. The prices are great and they do carry a large variety of organic food. The produce is where they make up for the prices everywhere else. The produce is sub par. You have to really know how to pick your fruit and veggies to get the most out of their tiny section. And even then you are paying through the nose at nearly double the price of a reputable grocery store. Another thing that bothers me is that they don't always carry the same products. For example I was buying a certain brand of fresh tortellini for months there at nearly 1/2 off the price of a regular grocer per lb. I was ecstatic. Then one day they just stopped selling it. Now they don't have fresh tortellini anymore at all. But they still have ravioli and meat based tortellini which is awful. No explanation and no one could answer why. So if you shop here just know that one day the brand or product you like may be gone forever. But to end this on a good note...I had been craving boysenberry jam from Knotts Berry Farm in Southern Cali for years. Living on the east coast for 20 years it wasn't accessible. So one day I'm shopping at Grocery Outlet and what do I see on the shelf? Four jars left of Knotts Berry Farm boysenberry jam. Cheap too! I...
Read moreI'm a Sophomore at Easton Area High School that participates in various school activities. For one, there's a fundraiser to sell ads. I thought that the Grocery Outlet might be interested in advertising, so I called and asked for the owner. The lady who answered the phone was very polite, however the owner was not. He said that since he contacted the principal of Easton and never got a response, he wasn't going to support school related programs, then hung up. I perfectly understand that some businesses aren't able to advertise, however this was just a man with a grudge. I called him back to clarify that I was, in fact, a student, who doesn't work with the principal. He said he understood, but, since he was slighted by the principal, he wasn't interested. He then hung up as I was trying to say something. I'm in high school, yet my manners are better than his. I know that it's nice to let people speak before hanging up on them. I know that it's not acceptable to take out your dissatisfaction with a school district on a teenager. Just because the high school didn't respond to him doesn't mean that he has to act like he's an immature high...
Read moreEw. Dirty sponges...I like this store a lot....other than the fact the cashiers touch the same old blue or green dirty sponge to open ur bags/touch ur food. Not a safe or hygienic or very wise business practice during a pandemic!! Sponges harbor so much bacteria! Really think they need to get rid of them, public safety issue here. Great way to spread the Covid! And other viruses too. Please fellow customers , don't allow this to continue and do complain. Thanks! Common sense practices like this are important. And even though I already filed a complaint, they still have those moist germ soaked sponges to touch. Also, tonight the one cashier literally took down her mask, picked her nose in front of my whole family with her long acrylic nail with a nice scoop and then proceeded to scan our FOOD items. So gross. I don't know how some people can be so oblivious. Might be my last...
