3.8 (rounds to 4) Atmosphere: 5 stars. It was pleasantly unexpected, but it was higher end feeling, especially when comparing it to the average Mexican restaurant. It looks more expensive than it is upon entry. Bar area to your left dining area to your right. I personally really enjoyed the glass in the booth dividers, custom designed pieces, I always appreciate places that pay attention to details in their designs. Drinks: This was as close to my favorite coconut mojito that's done in down in Brandon Fl that I have found up here. While a bit heavy on the lime, they used a cream of coconut or something of the sort in it and it just brings it to the next level for me, so well done. Food: The food had mixed reviews among the table. I had the carne asada. While I enjoyed my steak for the most part, It was cooked more to medium well than medium but the flavor was nice. Keep in mind its skirt steak so those can be tricky to nail down and easy to over cook. They also roasted whole green onions and it was a nice unexpected addition, but chew well folks! The refried beans and rice were standard but good. The 3 others with me were mixed on reviews. 1 ate the burrito, but didnt enjoy it and kept her enchilada, she wasn't a fan of the sauce. The other wasn't too into the tacos but ate them anyway. The 3rd guest enjoyed his fajitas. Overall it seems steak dishes were a favorite, where as the others, notcas much success. Normally I taste everyone's when we go out but I was too busy enjoying my mojito and carne!

I entered Tacos & Tequila at 4:40pm today ask for Reservations for me and my wife and my 3 years old daughter The waitress grab two menus, and was ready to give me a table then another person Whispered in her ear in Spanish let them wait 10 min. Then she put the Menus down and told us we have to wait Thinking that I did not know Spanish or thought that I wasn’t Spanish so when I looked around the restaurant as you see in the photos, the restaurant was empty with a whole bunch of waiters running around so I looked at my wife and said wow empty so I said let’s go I feel we are not wanted here. I went to the car and decided to go back and take some pictures for my review when I came outside a manager came outside named Milton saying what’s was going on I told him everything he told me the whole Restaurant shift was changing at 5 pm but I was in the Restaurant at 4:40pm Then he started making other excuses. That they would have to start cleaning and other things (OK) Look at the pictures and tell me what you think mind you Deliveries are coming in and out the restaurant from 440pm till 505pm I left the Restaurant I don’t see myself going back to this restaurant or recommending this restaurant to my family. I feel I was targeted to leave target not wanting me there.

I ordered two Burria plates, and the meat from the Birria was so tough and raw like literally raw. I called the same night making a complaint and that I wanted to speak to a manager and the receptionist told me there wasn’t a manager available. I asked to come the following day and when I did get a chance to speak to the manager he argued with me and said over and over that the meat wasn’t raw and that it took 6 hours to cook when I knew for a fact me and my significant other both had raw meat in our tacos. The management is horrible and I advise future customers to read the reviews on this location before dining in at this restaurant. The waitresses barely speak English and if your food isn’t fully cooked they don’t care and will argue with you about it. As far as handling this situation in a discreet way the entire staff knew about this issue and kept walking to the front just to look at us in the waiting area; VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Also the receptionist in the front when I came the following day thought my complaint was a joke and was laughing about it. This place is SICK and the staff is extremely rude!

This review is on my experience, not the food. It started out well with very good chips and salsa. We next ordered Jarritos drinks in the bottle. When the waiter brought them to the table he dropped it right where my plate would be and I was soaked from my chest to my groin with sticky soda. I went to the restroom to wash my arms up to the elbows and afterward realized that there were no paper towels. I went out dripping into the restaurant and asked the waiter for paper towels. He brought them, but now I am sticky, my phone is sticky and my mood is terrible. If I had been by myself I would have walked out at that point. When my food came out it was accidentally given to another in my party. I ate hurriedly and went out to the car to dry off in the sun and I wrote this review. I will not be able to come back here for at least 6 months. I do not know yet whether any part of the meal was comped, if not it will be a year before I return as it was pretty obvious what happened to me.

The complimentary chips and salsa they start you off with are honestly not good at all. The chips were too thick and stale, and the salsa tasted more like a sofrito than a salsa. My steak quesadilla had WAY too much cheese that it completely overpowered the steak, so I had to open it and pick the meat out and just ate that. My wife had the fried ice cream, the ice cream itself tasted really good and creamy, and the shredded coconut was a nice element. The fried tortilla the ice cream sits on that's supposed to be the 'cone dish' was horrible and didn't bring anything to the dish so I much rather it not even be present. My brother in-law ordered the chicken soup which he said was lacking much flavor that he ate less then half of the bowl. So the star dish of the night was my sister in-laws which had the pick 4. IF I would come here again it would only be for their amazing malibu bay breeze doubles, the pick 4, and the amazing customer service.
