Metropolis Comics The Falls — Local services in Palmetto Bay

To start off, the entire store smelled VERY STRONGLY of hamster. I know this is extremely specific, but it smelled like hamster bedding, food, and a general ambiance of rodent. Either the store used to be a pet store or the cloth short boxes were stored near animals.

Secondly, the comics were TERRIBLY organized, the comic book bags were open and a little musty. I understand the comics are ideally meant to be alphabetical, but the S comics were spread throughout several different short boxes.

The selection also sucked. I was looking for batman (and batman adjacent) comics, it's shocking how for such a big name there were only around 5 comics. Trust, I was keeping an open mind. I was looking for batgirl, nightwing, robin, etc. Suffice it to say, the comics are picked through.

Also, despite being a comic store, they are not carrying current runs. Only back issues. If you're getting into comics or are mainly shopping for them, this genuinely is not the store for you. They have a great selection of funkos (literally walls of them) but I fear I do visit a comic store for the comics.

I had a higher expectation as I've visited the location in homestead and they had an incredible, well-organized, selection of back issues. I hate to leave such a negative review but the 5.0 star...

I used to come here when it first opened and I used to love the atmosphere but the last time I went I wasn’t really feeling the same vibe anymore. I went in with a friend being polite and we felt a super weird vibe. Overall the girl in particular that works the front just gave us weird looks. Great for a comic store that’s just opened a second location. Very excited that it’s at the Falls. The organization and structure is evident, it’s clean and so well kept. The service is awesome! Great communication and candidness - I really really appreciated that! Left with three comics so far and sold a few funkos. Overall, a great experience.
