You know youâre officially in your 30s (or 40s... or spiritually 85) when walking into a Barnes & Noble feels like stepping into a sacred space. The smell of paper. The quiet hum of book lovers pretending not to judge each otherâs choices. The espresso machine hissing in the distance like a literary foghorn. Bliss.
Now, letâs address the obvious: there are a lot of Legos. Like, âDid a toy aisle escape from Target and claim asylum here?â levels of Legos. I half expected someone to hand me a helmet and send me on a brick-building quest before I could reach the novels. But once you navigate past the fortress of Hogwarts and the Star Wars merch, the heart of the store is still beautifully, unapologetically about books.
The fiction section was deep, well-stocked, and not afraid to mix Stephen King with Colleen Hoover like itâs some kind of cosmic test of taste. I found exactly what I was looking for thanks to a staff member who not only helped me, but seemed genuinely glad to be helping. That kind of energy is rare these days, especially when most retail experiences feel like you're interrupting someoneâs YouTube break.
Plenty of titles, helpful staff, and enough seating to pretend youâre going to start that book before realizing you left your kids in the Lego section.
Five stars. Because even with a small plastic army slowly occupying the store, Barnes & Noble is still holding the literary line. God...
Read moreI called asking if they had a book in stock over the phone and they looked all over the store for it but unfortunately they could not find it even though it was in their system. Store was clean during prior visits except for their kids section which was a bit messy, however, I mostly blame the parents for not picking up after their children. This store does NOT have a cafe, but there are coffee shops close by in the area. Barely any seating due to the smaller size of the store. The women working in the morning/afternoon seem busy and often hard to catch if you have a question but once you get their attention theyâre helpful. When I go in people are very rude to the young ladies working there which is upsetting to see. Mostly positive experiences; negative experiences seem like one off occurrences. I recommend going to this B&N if youâre local or a tourist...
Read moreThe employees on this store are rude. I called them on the phone and asked them about the Guitarist magazine June Issue, the girl that I was speaking to was so unprofessional. She said that they don't carry guitar magazines at all. I don't told her "that's not true", because I've visited there before in person and actually saw them myself. They carry some other guitar magazines (i.e. Guitar World). But today, I was specifically just asked her 'bout the Guitarist magazine, since I believe they have the monthly. I saw the old (May) issue and that's why I told the girl, it's not true that they don't carry any guitar magazines at all...then while I was trying to tell her that they carry this magazine, she hanged up on me ! Rude, rude,...
