I’m going to tell the whole story. It’s leap day, February 29, 2024. My daughter was born on leap year 8 years ago on February 28th 2016. As fate had it, her older sister had a track meet this evening so we didn’t make it to dinner until late. We walked in at 8:55 on a Thursday night thinking Texas Roadhouse closed at 10. (My fault for not looking). My little girl has been asking for “honey butter” all day. It’s her birthday meal of choice and the reason she chose Texas Roadhouse as her birthday meal. My heart melted when we pulled up and I saw they closed at 9 but we had a few minutes to spare so asked if they could accommodate us and if we could sit in the bar (I have been in the restaurant industry in college and know the bar is last to leave and take the late tables). There are 5 of us in our party but with one being little I said we can squeeze in a booth in bar. When greeted by server (not bartender) she asks for drinks, after giving drink order she states she doesn’t know if we can order drinks from bar and if so, it’ll only be one. No big deal. We can tell we are being rushed so placed food order and drink order all at once. Drinks come. We ask for rolls and honey butter. Server states they ran out. We can see rolls on top of the steak case. My husband reports he will pay extra $ for rolls since it’s our daughter’s request for birthday dinner. She walks past the rolls and says “oh they just came out”. No appetizer plates, no, no waters served with our cocktails, I stood up and walked to the bar to get appetizer plates and a lime for my cocktail. Server does not come back- inside of rolls are done done and doughy. Bartender is super sweet and helps us by getting us plates, waters and a lime for cocktail. When food comes out- order is wrong, my father-in-law ordered a chicken fried steak and Is brought a chicken fried chicken. I wave the server down to let her know that my father in law ordered a chicken fried steak not a chicken fried chicken, she took his plate and said she would go let the kitchen know, then returns and says im sorry the kitchen is closed. She didn’t offer a replacement food, and she had already taken the chicken back. At this point I’m so angry I asked for a manager. Manager comes out and said that she is having it remade to be a chicken fried steak. We all ate our dinner and the server never returned until he brought my Father-in-law took his food. Ag this point we were finished and all our problems pates were stacked on top of each other and we asked for him a to-go box. We were charged the entire price for a chicken fried chicken and we didn’t get to celebrate my daughters birthday with a scoop of ice cream or saddle ride because now I just want to get the heck out. Server states from across the restaurant “your tab is on the kiosk”.
We paid and left.
We are locals in SRB and my family is in PCB. We frequent here but idk when we will be back. Do better. Our fault for going in 5 minutes before on a...
Read moreWe’ve been locals for quite a while to this Texas Roadhouse. We frequented it when Paul was alive and the manager (never a bad meal and staff was ALWAYS amazing). We’ve been numerous times in the last few years and tonight was the worst experience that we have had. I ordered my normal chicken and took a few bites to look down and see it was very raw on the inside. I was able to get the bartender (we were sitting at the bar) and she went and got the service manager Kaylea.
Little did we realize that this was the same Kaylea that used to be a bar tender and we thought she didn’t work there anymore because her customer service was a nightmare. We sat there over an hour one night waiting on our food to only realize she hadn’t put our food order in and didn’t bother to tell us or apologize. The other bar tender had to tell us after we saw what was going on. We got up and left that night. We also had another bad experience with her at the bar that made us not come back for a few months.
Anyway- back to tonight. Kaylea comes over to us and says “what’s going on “love”? And has an attitude. I told her that my chicken was raw and that I ate part of it without realizing it. The bartender Morgan said yes I took it back to the kitchen and showed them. Kaylea says we have to fill out an incident report and takes down my information. She didn’t really apologize or anything. She said our food would be free. When we went to pay, we had to pay for the beer (totally fine with that!) but they came over and left the bill and left. The beer was rang up wrong and we couldn’t get them to come back over to us. I finally saw Kaylea and got her attention. I told her this is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at TR and she did not seem to care or interested. I’m not sure how she got promoted and the great staff that they used to have are all gone. You can tell that the staff seems uninterested in their job and does not take pride in it. Our other part of our meal was also brought out wrong. They brought out regular fries instead of the fry appetizer with cheese and chili on it. Let’s just hope I don’t end up sick from my meal. Drinks unfilled for over 15 minutes.
We won't be going back to this location again. Tonight was the last straw. We miss Paul and the staff that...
Read moreWe are big fans of the roadhouse in Crestview so we wanted to try this one out.... We won't be coming back here again though...
First - the positive thing - the kitchen knows how to cook a perfect steak...
Now to the rest: Though the restaurant was about half empty, it took quite some time to get seated and when we were leaving there were a lot of people waiting to be seated which seems quite odd as the restaurant was all but booked out... The 2 ladies at the hostess station seemed nice but quite clueless, the lady seating us didn't know who was next but tried to do her best without much help of the two hostesses, the bread was out, and after getting seated we had to ask the server after his 4th appearance at the table if we could actually get some bread which he then brought - carrying it with one hand with his thumb in the bread bowl, which is quite a big no no for me, serving it with his other hand once he got to the table... Ok, it was not so bad that he actually didn't know which seasonal beer was on tap but that the beer glass wasn't well filled either when I finally got it - which he might have just spilled, according to the small paddle on the table. Unfortunately we had nothing which would soak it up so we had a quite wet table around the glass.... When we got our food the steamed broccoli tasted a bit funky and my sweet potato was indeed loaded with marshmallows though nothing else .... No brown sugar and no cinnamon butter.... For which I also had to ask to actually enjoy my sweet potato... Never have I seen so many servers (6-7 at times) standing around the computer/order desk, however it is called, chatting and having a good time... Overall, I will rather continue going to the roadhouse in Crestview and look for another restaurant here in Panama City... It's not like there are so little...
