Milan Jewelers — Local services in Panama City

Charged for work that was not requested. Double talker. Asked for inside of pocket watch to be cleaned and lubricated. Said he sends to the time keepers from the mall (now closed but have used him before and does good work). Gave me a price of $100 which is fine. I okayed for the work to be done to clean the inside of my watch. He called few days later saying watch was ready. No explanation whatsoever at this time. I drove in and showed to pick up the watch. Was told that The person he uses (“The Time Keeper” from the Panama City mall, which is closed now. ) would not open the watch because the watch was working perfectly. Ok, so no charge. Nope Milan jewel said his person cleaned the exterior of watch charging $40. WHAT, I explicitly said inside watch. I asked the jeweler at this time for this person‘s phone number to discuss this charged without being authorized. At this time, the Malin jeweler said he would not give me his phone number to discuss this charge. I said OK you call him now and let me talk to him. He said no. I wanted to refuse paying, but the jeweler held my watch in ransom for payment of work that was not authorized. I had no choice at this point to pay and write this review. I believe the Malin jeweler had no intention of sending this watch out (why else was I not given the opportunity to speak with the timekeeper personally)? Instead I got hustled for a quick $40 for doing work that was not authorized. In my opinion, dealing with this person firsthand I would not deal with this jeweler at all, he ripped me off. Went in for a resize of a ring. Less than 10 mins after leaving called them back to ask to change it to 1 size smaller the original size I chose. I was told no problem. Came in next day to pick up ring and even though was only sized up 1 size and not 2 sizes up was told that it had already been sized up 2 sizes ( keep in mind it had only been 10 mins since I left ). There is no way that they were able to do that in that little amount of time and still charged me for sizing up ring 2 sizes. They did not want to work with me and I still had to pay for 2 sizes up. Way to churn and burn new customers…. Definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone… Shady… They even encourage you to pay cash , by doing so they don’t charge taxes and don’t give receipt so there’s no record of the transaction. Awesome guys here! Great service and REASONABLE! Looked all over Dothan for a jewelry store that had the tool that could open my 57mm wide watch to replace the batteries. Not only did not one of the stores have this tool, not one of them was willing to purchase one in order to service my watch, as their claim was that they don't see enough watches of that size to justify buying the tool. Really? Are you kidding me right now? Dothan is just despicable. These guys not only had the tool, they changed my watch batteries, (I have four watches), for $5 each! The batteries have to cost nearly that much. And yet that's all they charged was $5 per battery to change them out. It was worth the drive to Panama City just to...
