I visited Mochinut on the first day it opened and was the third customer from the very end of the line. I waited for 3 hours to order donuts for my coworkers and it was worth it. I could have gone home but I just moved to Panama City after living in Japan for 5 years and really wanted to try a Mochinut. I frequently stopped by Mr Donut (MisDo) in Japan for their mochi donuts šŸ© otherwise known as the pon-de-ring. They were my favorite donut as I love the chewy mochi texture. Despite the fact I was among the last customers in line, the staff was still making donuts so there were donuts available when we finally ordered. When the last two customers arrived at the counter, everyone in the store cheered for them. The staff was great. They worked really hard and made sure everyone got their order in. I didn’t see any of them idly standing around. They were busy bees and I bet they were very tired at the end of their shift. The Mochinut owner walked up to us and made sure we were able to get what we wanted. They did run out of various items but that’s understandable because there was an incredibly long line all day. I dropped by at lunch but didn’t have the time to line up. My coworkers loved the donuts and one visited when the store was having AC issues. He’ll be back and so will I. I want to try the mochi corndog now. A friend raved about the hot cheeto mochidog! I’m so glad Mochinut opened it’s doors in Panama City. Outside of this one, the closest Mochinut is located in Atlanta so we should be grateful. I know I amā£ļø

I came into Mochinut on a Tuesday around 5pm. There was one person ahead of me and a group behind me. One lovely lady was working the front, and she was absolutely incredible—kind, calm, and very knowledgeable. She patiently answered everyone’s questions and explained the menu thoroughly, all while handling a growing line of customers completely on her own. After taking three orders, she started preparing them, but more groups came in. Even with the rush, she kept her cool and did her best to keep everything moving. Eventually, with five groups waiting, she called someone from the back for help. Unfortunately, that’s when things went downhill. The woman who came out was on a loud phone call, yelling at someone, and slamming things around while trying to make orders. The atmosphere instantly became tense and uncomfortable. Honestly, it probably would’ve been better if the first lady had just continued on her own. It ended up taking 40 minutes to get three cheese dogs, three doughnuts, and one drink. The doughnuts were awful! They seemed to have been sitting out all day! As far as the corndogs the batter undercooked, which was disappointing so it was just raw batter. The boba was hard, but the drink tasted good. I won’t be coming back, but I sincerely hope someone from management realizes what a wonderful employee they have at the front—and does something about the one in the back before they lose the good one.

Edit: Gave it another chance today. I was so happy they finally have all the corn dogs with cheese. This time the wait isn't too long because there wasn't a long line anymore. However, the quality of both mochinut n corn dogs were good and fresh! I got a coffee Boba this time but the pearls still need work. Other than that.. the place looks clean and the workers are friendly. I hope this place continue to strive! My review isn't just based on one visit. The grand opening day, I waited for 2 hours in line only to move about 4 ft further. So we decided to leave. The 2nd day I came to find out that at 6pm (instead of 8) they closed their door. The 3rd day we came back but this time we were determined to get it. So even though the AC was out, we still waited in line for 45 minutes. We ordered Ube mochinut but was told to wait 10 extra minutes which we initially thought it was OK. After paying I realized the cashier had charged me an extra $20 which they refunded but had to wait an extra 10 min for them to figure out how to. By this time we have been in the store for one hour (without AC) and still hadnt received the orders. And a girl came to tell us that the Ube mochinut will take an extra 10 min 😔😔😔. When we finally got the Ube mochinut, it taste nothing like ube. What a disappointment!
