We had a terrible experience with another local appliance company, and decided to order a washer/dryer unit from Best Buy based on recommendations from locals and store reviews. We were hoping our experience with Best Buy would be easy, customer-friendly, and better than what we experienced elsewhere. We were very wrong - I will NEVER order an appliance from Best Buy again. Our initial experience was okay, we had to wait several weeks for the unit to be in stock (not Best Buy's fault), to have it delivered. The first delivery went well, and the delivery/install technicians were very friendly. Unfortunately, the unit that was delivered was defective as it kept leaving oil stains on our laundry - again, not likely Best Buy's fault. HOWEVER, the process to get a replacement unit was PAINFUL, with many phone calls, long wait times just to be transferred again and be put on hold again. Eventually, I was able to speak with someone after hours and hours of attempts to schedule a delivery of another replacement unit. I had to wait WEEKS for their availability to deliver, although the unit I currently had that they delivered was defective. Finally, delivery day of the replacement unit arrives and the window for the technician to arrive was between 8am-11am CST. After 11am with the tech being a no show and no contact, I called Best Buy just to be transferred, have another long wait time, and be told they are unable to contact the technician and get an ETA. I was told I was the next customer on the route, and that he should be there definitely by 1pm. They supposedly left him a message to call me asap. Well, after another hour still no contact from the technician, I have to CALL AGAIN (and wait again to speak with someone), just to be told the same thing - I was next on the route but they were unable to contact him to get an ETA. They supposedly left him a second message. Well, it is now 7 hours PAST my appointment window, still no call from the technician OR Best Buy regarding my missed appointment, so now I am at the mercy of calling Best Buy back, rescheduling my appointment and going thru this very difficult and disastrous process AGAIN. I can only hope this doesn't happen next time. Once the replacement unit is installed, I am DONE with Best Buy. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
UPDATE: Best Buy was another no-show for my SECOND appointment for the replacement unit, without any explanation as to why. I asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times, and received a rejection each time that no one was available. I asked for my case to be escalated with NO CALL BACK, we emailed the regional manager in PCB for assistance with NO RESPONSE, and of course the local store is not accepting phone calls. The Customer Service reps for the National line are incompetent and clearly ill-equipped to handle customer issues. There is NO customer service in companies any more first of all. They simply do not care. My LG refrigerator went out after only 6yrs. I was going to fix the compressor but it would take over a week to have someone get here. Why not just buy a new one. My home ins(Old Republic) would reimburse me most of the cost. Went to Lowe's. Nothing kept in stock anymore. Absolutely nothing! Came home got online called BB. After over an hour I finally had a refrigerator. All the ones I had picked could be delivered by Aug 8th. Oh great I thought. Then the last step the agent would say "oh I'm sorry that's not available in your area" what??!! But did order one(not the one I really wanted) and she said "it can be delieved Aug 12th! What??. What happened to the 8th. My broken refrigerator could be fixed on the 7th. But I was SO frustrated by then I went with it. I kept getting notices of delivery times. First few days 7::30 am to 7:30 pm then the last 3 days 10:30- 3:30. Today went into my app and it said to "schedule your time?" So it took me to a calendar and today was NOT available until August 20th! I immediately called the 800 number but still connected called the store. Started telling her the situation and the 800 number buzzed in saying to hang up and he was someone higher up. Now in between this time I had gone INTO our local store to just see if I could push my delivery date up. A young man told me NO because the truck doesn't arrive until Friday(Aug 8th) My delivery date the following Tuesday(today 8/12) I said OK.:( Then showed him the model I really wanted and could I get that one. He said NO we can't even get that one. I said "what?" Yeah,LG pays us to keep their models on DISPLAY!!!!" I told him WOW that makes Best Buy AND LG look bad. Would that fall under deception?
