As I walked in, I saw several flies flying from pastry to pastry. I selected a loaf of bread for purchase. The employee dropped the loaf of bread on the flooras she turned to bring it to the register. The employee told me this was the last loaf of bread she had for sale so I began to ask about other breads they had for sale. Another employee approached then asked me if I still wanted to buy the loaf that had fallen on the floor. Shocked, I asked if she meant she had another loaf of the same type. She stated no, and again ASKED IF I WANTED TO BUY THE LOAF OF BREAD THAT FELL ON THE FLOOR. WHEN I SAID NO, SHE TOOK THE SAME LOAF OF BREAD THAT HAD FALLEN ON THE FLOOR AND PLACED IT BACK ON THE SHELF TO SELL TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER. The manager came over and the employee told him the bread had fallen on the floor and that she was still planning to sell the bread and he told me that that was not their policy and that that does not happen! This is seconds after the employee told the manager herself that she WAS trying to sell me the loaf of bread. The manager then simply said, "I'm sorry" and walked away. I called the corporate hotline to complain and after waiting on hold for almost 10 minutes was told they would "relay the information to the appropriate regional teams" and offered me a $20 PANERA gift card. I asked to speak to the manager and after another 10 minute wait was told the exact same thing! I told them to send the gift card and I would give it to a homeless person. I will never eat at another Panera again due to the poor hygiene and lackluster customer service. What a joke...
Read moreI'm in a quandry. About 1 to 2 months ago I gave this Panera Bread store a raving 5 star review but today it has been the cause of great frustration. A couple days ago, I stopped in for some orange scones and was told a caterer needed six so there were no more. My wife stopped by yesterday and there were no orange scones but was told there was a truck coming in so there should be some tomorrow morning. I stopped by 10 minutes ago and was told by the manager that there was no truck. In my frustrated voice, I said to the manager, I don't understand why you guys are always out of scones. You know darn good and well that if you make a large amount, they'll sell out so why not make more of them? The manager was obviously upset by my questions to him and he walked away as I was trying to apologize if I came across harshly. In all fairness, I know he was in the middle of preparing a customer's order but he made a couple excuses (in my opinion) for poor management. Instead of , "Well, I've only got two people working on three trucks (or words to that affect) . . . and totally missed the opportunity to make things good on the spot. He could've assured me that my complaint was valid and offered to have another look at how these items or ingredients are ordered to try to make things better. I pretty much repeated the same info to Anne(?) Who said sometimes she tries to make more orange scones. I know it seems so trivial of me right now, but customer service is the way I perceive how important customers are to the company...

We ordered 2 salads. 1 salad we received wasn’t even what we ordered, and then the other one was full of moldy, smelly lettuce. The entire salad was bad. I called and spoke to the manager LJ. He was so unprofessional… first, he put me on hold, without asking me to hold. I waited 5 minutes and finally called back. When he answered the phone he called me “honey” and said that he didn’t forget about me, he was just busy taking another order. I explained my issues with the order. He didn’t apologize…He said he could remake it and I could come get it. Why in the world would I want to come back for another moldy salad? He also said the incorrect salad we received was “an extra they had left over”??? I told him I wanted a refund, he sounded annoyed but agreed to do it, and then asked me my name again (for the 4th time) and told me that next time I order, to give them my name and he would “hook me up”.
