Well, hereâs how it goes at Mindfreak. First problem is, that the ushers are rude dickheads. I have my kid with me, my hands are full of snacks and drinks, and I ask the usher which way to my section. He demands to see my ticket. Dude, I know exactly where my seats are. Just point me in the right direction. He starts yelling at me in front of my kid. Now, I gotta put the drinks down, get into the Ticketmaster app and pull up the seats, just so he can point me to the right. Then when I get inside the theater, there is another rude usher doing the exact same thing to a different guy. This usher starts yelling at the guy in front of his family and almost picking a fight with the guy. So, you already have a bad taste in your mouth before the show even starts. Now, letâs get to the show. Pretty damn underwhelming, especially considering how much hype they put into this thing. Pictures all over Vegas saying itâs the greatest act in human history. About 20 minutes into the show, you start to realize that you spent $400 on two tickets, and you are definitely not going to get your moneyâs worth. Every single illusion seemed like something I saw a magician do on Carson back in the seventies. Tricks with doves that appear. Swallowing razor blades that he pulls out tied to a thread. And coin tricks. Yes, you just paid $200 a ticket for coin tricks. And after every illusion, he would run to the front of the stage with him arms stretched wide, wind machine blowing in his face, as if saying, âis this not the greatest thing you have ever witnessed?!â It was kinda silly.
Then, the show goes into complete buzzkill mode. Ten minutes of pictures of kids in the hospital, suffering from cancer. I truly appreciate all that he has done for ill children. I really do. But this killed what little vibe the show even had. Depress the audience and make them sad. What the hell man? Just entertain me already. Some illusions were cool. Not gonna say that there werenât some cool things in this show. But I know entertainment value, and this just did not live up to the ticket prices. I have seen tons of Vegas shows, and this was mostly hype. Go spend $50 on a Carrot Top ticket. Much more...
Read moreThe show wasn't the best or worst but my issue was that I had my tablet with me and was told it wasn't allowed. Thinking it was that phones weren't allowed I mentioned it. She said phones were allowed because people needed them for scanning their e-tickets. Okay, well our tickets are all on my tablet. I don't have a phone as I make calls even from my tablet. She says no cameras or laptops. Okay again I'm still confused as to why a tablet isn't allowed as it is neither. Its an oversized phone. I'm thinking someone trying to sneak photos from a 10" tablet would be way more noticeable than with a small phone. I even offered to turn it off for the show. She says No, that she's unsure of the reason, not going to find out the reason or make an exception. Was told that it's Chriss' rules, and that's that. So, I had to have someone else within my group take a photo of our e-tickets and then go check my tablet in at the bell desk downstairs. I return and go in only to find that photos can be taken up until the show starts and you could even tag the photo to be played on screen before the show!?! đ¤đđł Not for me though as my tablet/phone was downstairs.. To make things worse I had no pockets and my check slip to pickup my tablet had fallen on the floor during the show. We were in the row by the walkway. The attendants had used the blower to clear all the confetti so I didn't see my slip. Thank goodness the same gentleman was working that had checked in my tablet and thank goodness someone else hadn't found the slip and retrieved it themselves. I would've flipped out had that happened as i had a bad feeling about it from the time i found out I had to go check it anyways. If I could figure out even one reason why it would be okay to bring a phone with an 8" screen but not one with a 10" screen it'd be more acceptable. At least make it make sense... The show was a lot of lights and sound effects. I have wanted to see him perform since years ago when he had the TV show and picked it as the one show we were all going to attend. Sadly, other than the t-shirt and hat the memories of the show I will have were of the ridiculousness I went through over my tablet....
Read moreMy friend and I were looking for a show to see while we were in Vegas and decided Mind Freak would be the show to check out. It was absolutely mind blowing! We were completely engaged and amazed the entire show. From the lights to the insane magic/illusions, we couldnât fathom what was happening before our eyes. So when Criss shared that another show, a newer show called Amystika, would be showing later in the evening, we couldnât resist and bought tickets immediately. Best impulse buy of our lives. This show was absolutely magical. đŞâ¨ There were millions of little details that made this experience incredibly beautiful and dazzling. My friend and I were completely immersed in the heart of the storyline and found it to be so relatable. Each and every act and artist was insanely talented! I tried my very best not to blink because I didnât want to miss a single second. I canât even find the words to explain how I felt leaving the showâŚI didnât want to leave! I wish it was like a Netflix show where I could binge watch for hours. Although both shows were insanely spectacular, Amystika broke my heart and put it back together in one experience đNever while watching a show/movie did I feel like I had entered into the each scene. I felt like I was apart of a journey and the secret at the end was something I didnât know I needed to hear. I was moved to tears at the profound and poetic words of Criss Angel. He truly touched our hearts & left us feeling inspired to dream and live each moment like it was our last. And the whole cherry on top of this massive sundae of two shows was meeting Criss Angel afterwards. He radiated love and kindness, and was an absolute joy to meet. I feel so blessed to have met such a magical and genuine person. I truly hope that everyone has and takes the opportunity to see Mind Freak and Amystika because both shows will truly leave you filling amazed, inspired, and changed for the better! Thank you to all the individuals who made these shows come to life. I am truly grateful to you all for the experience you...
