Geek Squad — Local services in Paramus

I called the online repair service for geek squad to look into tv repair at my local Best Buy in Paramus. I confirmed multiple times that they would repair the make and model of my Sony TV which I confirmed several times was not purchased at a Best Buy store. They said it didn’t matter, they had the ability to run a diagnostic in store for free and I could choose to have them fix it on site at cost.

When I arrived at the store, I spoke with an apparent floor runner for support but it took over 10 minutes for someone to come assist with a cart because I was not allowed to take the open flatbad cart freely sitting at the entrance as a customer. Yet there was staff all over seemingly walking around bored and confused. When someone finally helps me bring in the TV (that I could have and tried to do so myself), and then finally sees me at the geek squad desk, they tell me that they do not repair TVs purchased from other stores, regardless of the brand. Naturally, I explained my phone call and all I got in return was, “yeah, the phone reps don’t know our policy”— and to really really rub salt into this ridiculous waste of time wound, I couldn’t get a single staff member to help retrieve an “employee only” cart to bring my 65 inch TV back to my car.

If you're looking for computer repair, take your computer elsewhere and don't buy computers from here. Don't bother with their geek squad department - they're incompetent and will require you to make multiple trips when they're unable to successfully fix whatever issues you're having. I left them a laptop that I bought directly from the store - all I needed was to have antivirus installed on the new computer and have my files transfered from my old computer to the new computer, and they couldn't even do either of those tasks successfully. I ended up having to drive back and forth to the store twice. Never again will I step foot in that store or use their geek squad department.
