Just left without buying the game I was a bit interested in as the dude behind the counter dashed out, nearly running over my girlfriend who was walking toward me, to inform me that the games aren't in the case when I opened it up to look at the booklet that was amazingly still there. I opened the case because I felt the weight of the booklet and wanted to get more information on the game. Never had an employee at any other Game-X-Change come running to act like I was stealing just for opening a case, definitely when it's common sense that CDs are never in the cases and are locked up behind the counter Nah, the dude seems Hella bored and just wanted a reason to start an issue, so he felt the need to treat me like I was trying to steal a game. Trust me, a 7.99 used game is not worth stealing, and if it were, they'd have the case locked up in the glass. And if I wanted to steal, they have plenty of Pokemon cards and Magic: The Gathering cards openly displayed on tables for anyone to just walk by and pocket. If customers aren't allowed to look inside at the booklets, how about Game-X-Change start taping them up? I'll avoid this Game-X-Change from now on when I...
Read moreI went to this Game x change going to Gainesville tx after a long trip. I walked around and found 3 games I wanted then I asked the masked man behind the counter if I could see a game behind the case. He acted like I put him out. The game was Cold Fear for the PS2. He pulled it out and just held it and told me that it was 78 dollars. I said ok, can I see it? I am a video game collector, Condition matters. So yes I want to hold it and inspect the condition. He reluctantly gives it to me like I was not to be trusted. Then he gives me no time to look at it the game and said “so are you going to get it?” The answer was gong to be yes but the interaction with this masked man made me uncomfortable and a little aggravated. He was rude and impatient with me. I told him no and gave the game back to him. Then I put my other games back on the self and walked out. I go to the game exchange in Gainesville 2 or 3 times a week and Tyler and his staff would never treat a customer like that. I will not be going back to Paris GXC anytime soon or at all! It makes me appreciate the GXC...
Read moreAs a game collector, I tend to be extremely picky when it comes to buying games, I've visited countless stores across the state and of every store I've been too, Game-X-Change in Paris is my honest to God favorite, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the selection is freaking amazing, the prices are excellent and I almost always find something I need for my collection when I go in. The only minor nitpick I have is that there's no signs in the store specifically stating that the retro games are not part of the "buy 2 get 1 free $9.99 or less" deal, which becomes especially confusing when other Game-X-Change stores (such as McKinney and Sherman) do include them, but it's a very small complaint and they are run by completely different management so it's not really an issue. Overall, I love the store and if you're looking for a place to buy video games in NE Texas, this is the best one I've found. The stores in Tyler and Marshall are also excellent, but I feel the Paris store beats...
