Visit Greater Parkersburg — Local services in Parkersburg

Investigated a trip to Parkersburg. Drove 2 and 1/2 hours. Wanted to see Blennerhassett Island. All of the literature, including their printed ferry schedules, stated that the last ferry was at 4:30 p.m. What they don't tell you is that the last ferry from the mainland to the island is apparently at the caprice of whomever is operating the ferry and is listed nowhere on their literature. Therefore, at 7 minutes after 3:00 p.m., we were told that we were too late. Wasted trip. If you want my advice, unless you want to deal with the whims of the ferry operator, go to the other side of the state to Berkeley springs or shepherdstown. "0" stars for visit Parkersburg.
