What I can say about DD’s is mostly positive. It’s a wonderful addition to Pasadena and a great lower priced alternative to Ross, which happens to be in the same shopping center. There is a good selection and product mix at affordable prices and some of the brands are well known labels. As with any retail establishment, there are bound to be long lines and wait times but that is only natural depending on the time, day, and month. Obviously weekends are packed, I’ve found the best time to shop is weekdays early mornings. You aren’t allowed to take shopping carts outside the store, however this is a positive because this means you will always have a cart ready at hand to use in the store opposed to sitting outside in the parking lot, so park close if you can and plan accordingly. Yes, bags are asked to be left at the front, this unfortunately is probably due to shrink issues, wouldn’t be a problem, but a few bad apples spoil it for everybody, so just leave your shopping bags in the car and obviously don’t wear backpacks in a retail establishment because things can always get misplaced. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about the no restroom policy, so here’s my thoughts, first, no, they don’t have to have a public restroom. They might have one for employees and that’s ok because it’s mandatory. But the Restroom Access Act aka Ally’s Law is in effect if you have a document signed by a medical professional attesting you have a medical emergency. Easy enough ID card to get from your Dr. If it’s a legit case. Not every state requires a business have public restrooms, though it’s nice, but then again not every business wants their customers stealing merchandise and clothing and flushing the evidence down the toilet clogging it up, again, a few bad apples were at play here. Back to the store, another positive note is that they offer plus size women’s clothing and big and tall for men. Another interesting note is the comments about customer service. Be sure to remember that it’s subjective and it takes 2 people to make a pleasant encounter and exchange. As with Ross, it’s a variety store, what you see is what they have and it is random day to day, both positive and negative, but at a good...
Read moreThey have some pretty cheap stuff compared to its local competitor Ross but however me being very observervent, I did catch something that wasn't such a discount :-( So that's why I knocked off one star.... other than that I enjoy shopping here. I asked the lady at the register after pointing out the price can I have it for the cheaper price that the factory of the shirt maker marked it as? She said that she couldn't change the price if the DD's price didn't ring it up as that or if that's not what's on the tag and that she had to honor the DD's price instead so that's what made DD's lose points in my book. I had asked her after seeing that would she buy that same shirt after seeing that the shirt is originally Marked cheaper than what the price says from DD's and she replied "No" I responded they should have least took off the original tag and put their price. But hey if others are not as Observervent as I am and are clueless somewhat dumbfounded then hey whatever works for the company and floats your boat to get their money then hey go for it! But for the people who work hard and don't want to waste unnecessary money then you are warned. I also saw the same thing at Ross to a different shirt but marked the same...

The people working "security" are super friendly and nice, always.
The girls at the register are always generally looking unhappy though which is sad, because I've worked retail (Target), so I know how it is...But truly, they barely smile, barely speak. Just tell you the total, and will just call out "NEXT IN LINE/NEXT CUSTOMER". I am used to at least smiling at customers and being polite, not being kind of short.
Last few times I've visited, the staff weren't as cold as my previous review of their really bad rudeness (giving attitude and shoving a receipt in my hand harshly). But, it seems to slowly be getting better, which is good.
I love shopping at DD's, they have great deals.
What suck though is candles and skincare, body care products...They get damaged so easily. People are ridiculous, and they their kids go crazy too.
Always fingerprints in makeup, and broken makeup...The soaps are leaky a lot...touched, etc.
P.S. For people who don't know and find this review, DD's is owned by the same people who own Ross, that is why you'll notice similarities in the store's products, etc. It's crazy how many don't...
