Brought the car in for diagnosis after an overheat on the highway (loss of coolant due to a hose blowing out). They said the engine was "seized" (total BS... I later took the engine apart and while I had melted the pistons slightly, the rotating assembly did move and the engine could still turn over). Said I needed a new engine. Two months later they told me they found one to buy, then three months later told me they hadn't actually bought it (without calling me to tell me this). Returned maybe 3 calls in all of 6 months - I was calling them every week for a while there. SO, being a Volvo fanatic, I asked a couple of friends, found a rebuilt '94 B230FT, bought it and brought it to them for the swap. A month later they hadn't even started on the swap. A month after that, I went in and took my car, my engine, and a bunch of parts that I had bought back from them. These guys can't pick up the phone without being hounded, their technician told me I was wrong repeatedly, and nobody was really willing to help. Not to mention the staff has a variety of rather racist stickers around the shop ("Welcome to America, Now speak english!") Fortunately after more than six months they only made me pay for the diagnoses they did in the beginning.
Credentials: I took the car and engine and parts home and did the swap myself in my driveway in two weekends, having never done one before on my own. Saved an estimated $1800 and didn't have to deal with them again. STAY AWAY, this shop isn't owned by the lovely Tomasso family any more and leaving the Tomasso sign up is a disgrace to what used to be a wonderful...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. I was looking for a local shop with Volvo expertise to do smaller jobs, and if my experience was positive, I could transition to a regular customer. Instead, a trim piece that I had pointed out ahead of time needed extra diligence to avoid damaging wound up scuffed. Rather than being apologetic, one of the technicians was aggressive and went so far as to tell me that scuffing my interior is part of wear and tear that could be expected with regular service and I needed to get over it. Unfortunately I can't recommend doing business with a shop that thinks it's OK to return a customer's vehicle in worse condition than when you left it with them, even if it...
Read moreBrought in my Volvo XC90 because of a coolant leak.. to make a long story short they tried charging me for 2 hoses when they only replaced one... if I had not of talked to the mechanic myself I would of been charged for 2... also the coolant leak wasn’t fixed they misdiagnosed the problem and now I’m out 200 dollars and back at square one... also after the work was done I asked if they had done a pressure test they told me yes... that was obviously a lie because the car leaked litterally the same day I drove it home. After being blatantly lied to, over charged and the problem still not being fixed I won’t return, can’t trust...
