Candlewood Suites Pearl by IHG — Hotel in Pearl

This was our first stay at Candlewood Suites in Pearl. The clerk that checked us in on 11/07/19 was super nice! We did have several issues that popped up during our visit. Our room did have a "smell" to it that was unidentifiable. The air conditioner in our room would not cool off the room, so it was hot in our room, and the air conditioner was also leaking, got all over the carpet, so the carpet was wet just about our whole stay. We mentioned this to someone at the front desk, but nothing was done. We also had an issue with our door, it wouldn't close all the way, unless it was slammed extremely hard, and checked over and over again...most times you could just push it open, so we did not feel very safe in our room, and did not feel like our things in the room were safe when we weren't in the room. There was also another big issue with parking, a majority of the parking lot was roped off. We had a family member that has a handicap placard, and we not able to park in the handicap spots because others, non-handicapped, were given permission to park in those spots. So we went in to ask about where to park, and were told we could park, so we parked there, and then were called the next morning very early, waking us up, by the front desk telling us to move our car, and still NO WHERE to park! And on the day we checked out, I had called down to the front desk for about a 30 min delay on check-out, and this request was denied, and was informed that the maid was actually waiting for us to leave to clean our room. Check in was easy & fast, we checked in on a Friday and was able to get a good room with no problem, also got a CDL discount for my husband being a truck driver. We are here only for an appointment in Jackson but that area was not so nice, and it was very busy as far as traffic and people walking around everywhere so we decided to come back to this area to feel more safe and clean! Once we made it to the room it was just as pictured online, clean and the bed was comfy! The kitchenette & bathroom was very clean and the entire room was stocked with plenty amenities that are free to use! We are very happy we decided to stop here, any time we are in this area we will be back to stay here!.. UPDATE We ended up staying another night here instead of checking out Saturday we checked out Sunday, housekeeping was nice and didn't bother us, they gave us clean sets of towels and a few other things we needed and they were gone, they didn't even come in our room like some will do, but our stay here was great only thing I would complain about would be that after finding out we needed to stay a second night we tried to book the room online just to get a cheaper price and the man at the desk told us if we did that we would have to move rooms even tho the room we was going to book was exactly the same as the one we were in, we just didn't wanna have to move all of our belongings , we had a 2 month old baby with us so it was a lot of baggage, so we said forget it and just went ahead and paid the full price AGAIN to stay in the same room. Good prices horrendous owner. Indian guy that is no help! It looks like some kid tagged the door with a spray can! This week the Patel guy is not here but on vacation. Well his one hood elevator broke … again! Its always something here! The staff are really good people! But they r constrained by the CHEAP A S S OWNER! I have a heart condition that limits my ability to go up and down stairs! This make the 3rd time I have been here they have had problems with the elevator! This puts me @ a big disadvantage. I stay for weeks @ time. All my luggage, food and computers are all upstairs. Im stuck! I will never stay here again! SO RUN DONT STAY HERE ALWAYS SOME PROBLEMS AND Patel won’t help. Last time i was here i had to threaten to check out due to a broken chair! He asked me if I broke it in the conservation! I just checked in! Then he got the recliner to close and wanted me use it cuz it closed! Its feaking broken! I wanted to change it out and it was a big deal with him! We went round and round! The refrigerators sounds like a snow cone machine! I asked to get fixed but Patel just ignores you! Today I am done with him and will be contacting all local officials regarding the elevator.
