I don't know if it's just THIS Cracker In barrel or all of them now, but this one is HORRIBLE!! Do not eat here! I know I'll never go back and that really disappointed me because of how much I used to LOVE Cracker Barrel. I ordered the seafood country platter and everything came out over battered and it looked like the shrimp and one piece of the fish were flash fry reheated. I never even got one of my sides (Cole slaw) that didn't even require cooking so I don't see why when I mentioned it, it still didn't come out. The other person at my table got a country boy platter. His pancakes had burnt stuff all over one of them and the other pancakes was 1/3rd of the size. The hash brown casserole looked disgusting and his eggs were over easy when he ordered over medium. The biscuits were still Pretty amazing, but we had to ask another server to get them for us then we had to ask ANOTHER server to bring jelly. When we tried to explain to a manager, he was defending everything like it was good food and we were just being "those customers". I really hate to complain about anything and I only write reviews when I'm blown away with a place whether it be good or bad. Well, I was certainly blown away.... I even tried to ask for a different manager, one that would actually look at what their kitchen just sent out and had enough sense to be able to acknowledge that the quality of the food was below anything I've ever even received from waffle House or McDonald's and they just sent the same manager out and he was very rude about doing anything other than taking one of the meals off. I would have been totally fine paying for what was worth paying for (IE: the biscuits, the watermelon spritzer, the cheese curd appetizers, and the strawberry Mimosa) but apparently that wasn't going to be an option. Food has to be inedible for me to leave a review. I don't even think my dog would've eaten that. They had, what looked to be more than a full crew of servers, yet there was a 20 minute wait and a bunch of dirty tables when we first arrived. Malcolm is the only name I remember seeing as he mocked our asking for a manager to another table. Some places have dropped in quality, but this place is garbage. Kudos to the businesses that still maintain decent customer service, that still do their jobs, and that still deliver a satisfactory product. As far as this place goes, I hope they follow their Jackson location...
Read moreI went with two other people yesterday (a saturday) around 2pm. Upon arrival the country store, ladies room and restaurant were noticeably dirty. The restaurant was not very busy but we had to wait for a table- once we were seated the table was wiped off but trash as well as a large sticky spot in the middle of the table was left. The floor was so filthy I felt compelled to ask a server if something could be done and 20 min later when someone finally came for our drink order I did just that and was met with an eye roll and told “ I’m not even your waitress…..I’m just getting your drink order”. Ive worked in the service industry for years and typically would never add to someone’s workload unless I felt it was absolutely necessary and considering I was with my grandmother who was in a wheelchair with wheels that pick up everything on the floor and the restaurant floor was covered in old food, napkins and Lord knows what else this was absolutely necessary. Things got worse from there……we should have left after waiting 20 min just for our drink orders to be taken but we hoped it wasn’t indicative of the rest of our experience. We were wrong…….we waited another 10 min to get out drinks and another 20 after that for our food orders to be taken and this was only after asking a manager if we had a server. Now, the young man who the manager sent to wait on us did a phenomenal job considering how inept the soup sandwich masquerading as his coworkers appeared to be….Back to the filthy environment that must have been acceptable to the manager who stood outside of the kitchen entrance and possibly assigned duties to his employees but from where I sat it looked like he was flirting with his younger female staff (I wasn’t close enough to hear if this was correct so take my assumption for what it is). And finally, our food came out incorrect, cold and about 45 min too late as we had been there for 90 minutes before it was brought to the table. I had not come to this restaurant in a long time bc my previous experience here was similar (yet not as bad) to my most recent visit. I will certainly not return and it’s a shame because I doubt this place will stay open here...
Read moreWe went to Cracker Barrel Sunday afternoon around 3 o’clock. Walked right in. Not busy at all . The waitress seated us . She went get our utensils and proceeded to take our order. My 31 year old daughter has Tourette’s. My daughter’s tics that day consisted of eye rolling , grabbing the lamps and slapping her self. Her ‘tics were not very bad to start. Our waitress made my daughter feel very uncomfortable by constantly staring at her. It was to the point where the waitress would come back and just stare at my daughter. After about 25 minutes after we ordered we got our biscuits. The only utensils they gave us was forks. I ask the waitress for butter knives to butter our bisquits . She never showed up with the butter knives. She did come back to stare at my daughter ,which only made my daughter’s tics miserable. After about 45 minutes we received our order. We did not get anything to cut our country fried steak . When I told the waitress she went get 2 knives. She handed me the knives touching the blade .i confronted her about it. She didn’t see anything wrong with touching our utensils. She also touched my daughters straw after it was in her glass. The white gravy was so thick and cold. The has brown casserole was cold and dry . The green beans tasted like they just opened a can of green beans and put in the plate. During all of this the waitress was still constantly staring at my daughter. My daughters tics got so bad that she had to leave the table before finishing the meal. . I talked to the waitress about how uncomfortable and upset my daughter was because of her constant staring. My daughter loves Cracker Barrel but never wants to go back. This was the worst experience we ever had at a Cracker Barrel. . Employees should be trained on how to deal with people with special needs. The manager did deduct money from our ticket. I would much prefer to have my daughter enjoy her meal than to get a discount. Do better...
