Dollar General — Local services in Pere Marquette Charter Township

The first problem I have with the store is that there are constantly carts and boxes full of merchandise that need to be put away all over the store. There are so many that it makes it difficult to walk down the aisles or see half of what's on the shelves. My second issue is with the large amount of products that are out of stock. I expect a few items to be out at a time, but here you find several items per shelf that are out of stock. It's incredibly difficult to complete your shopping when half of what you need you can't find. My biggest problem, however, with this store is the complete lack of customer service! No one ever greets you when you walk in the door and every time I've gone to cash out I've had to go looking for a worker. Today there was a line of four or five people waiting to check out and no workers in sight. I understand that they're busy putting away merchandise, maybe trying to take care of the problem I mentioned earlier, but customer service should always come first. I questioned the cashier why an item was ringing up as $5.65 when it was marked on clearance for a dollar and she was like I don't know and I don't care, your total is $15.83. I'm like well excuse me, but it's marked for a dollar so can you either change it or take it off. So amidst all the huffy breathing and smacking her lips she changed it, then she was like, I changed the price, what else do you want? What makes it so bad is that this employee was a part of management, judging by the fact that she didn't have to call a manager for approval of a price change. I won't be going back here.
