I am deeply disappointed and outraged by the appalling experience my elderly father-in-law had at Craig Ryan in Petoskey. If I could give them 0 stars, I absolutely would. This establishment shamelessly took advantage of him, charging an outrageous $588 for items that would cost no more than $75-$100 at any other reputable shop.

My father-in-law, who was traveling with us for a wedding, needed a bow tie and suspenders for a wedding that evening. Instead of being treated with the dignity and respect that any customer deserves, he was exploited like a desperate tourist. He told them that his son was getting married and that he had left his bow tie and suspenders back in Rochester MI. They laughed and joked that it would cost him but insisted he was in good hands. They were not kidding, about it costuhg him. They sold him suspenders that didn't even work with his pants, further highlighting their lack of integrity and customer care. They sold him cuff links that would have been maybe $50-60 at a men’s warehouse which were not needed since his shirt had buttons in place already or optional slots for the cuff. They also talked him into buying much more expensive suspenders that didn’t even work with his pants. Even as he checked out he nervously asked if the price was serious as it was almost $600 and when he was told yes felt pressured into completing the transaction.

It's disgraceful to see a business engage in such predatory practices, especially towards an elderly man in his 60s. This isn't just bad business; it's outright robbery. Shame on this store for their unethical behavior. I urge others to steer clear and take their business elsewhere. This store does not deserve your patronage. You guys are DISGUSTING! Last minute shopping, this place delivered above my expectations, the staff was so friendly and helpful. They definitely gained a regular customer.
