World Market — Local services in Pharr

The products are fine and worth more stars, but the in store experience was worth less than 1 star. I went in to my local world market (already to exchange a defective item) and was looking to spend the in store credit I had received. I saw a lamp in the store and it looked nice and I wanted to buy it. Someone who worked at the store said she would "look in the back for this item because on the website it was listed as available". The lady did not return for 20 minutes, but we waited because we wanted to buy this product. After she came back with no luck she said that she could sell me the floor model. Which is usually fine (I have other WM floor items and they are lovely) but this item was missing the lamp shade. The employee said she would give me a discount due to the fact that the item had the most important part missing and had been on the floor a while, which again was fine. Since there are mix and match shades we picked out a new lamp shade for this item. We brought it to the front (employee did not offer to carry the lamp) and proceeded to check out. The employee informed me that she could only take 15% off for this item and would also have to charge me for the shade. This made my floor model MORE EXPENSIVE than the original and I explained to her how that it does not make sense to be charged more for an extra shade (which was supposed to be included with the purchase). She then laughed at me and told me "it is only an extra $2." At that point I felt embarrassed and pressured to buy the item. I can not bring myself to return the item nor felt that I could go back. Upon further investigation I could have boughten a brand new lamp with in store pick up and gotten 20% off for the purchase. Instead, I have half a used product that cost more than the original product. I am very disappointed and would not recommend shopping at this location with this...

They didn’t give me my refund. They charged me for items I didn’t receive. I had to file a bank dispute. Furthermore, the female employee there acts like it’s the bane of their existence that a customer wants a return/refund. Listen I work a 8-5 and still don’t act like it’s everyone else’s problem. Another employee even told me ‘you have to take the bottles out,’ which was disrespectful because why am I doing your job? They even said I can’t take the bottles out prior to saying that so? What’s the deal? They charged me per bottle for a pack they bought wholesale and forgot to take apart before selling. Thus, I simply asked for a refund, but clearly the manager there thinks I’m stupid enough that I don’t know how to dispute an amount that the bank already processed and told me nothing is showing for a return on their end when I have evidence of the return. I’ve spent 70-100 dollars on average here every visit over the years and the customer service has become a mess. Enjoy yourselves, I’ll just buy in bulk or straight from the...

This place is alright a bit way to expensive. But, you may find things that you won't find in your convenient local stores. But it is high in prices. Bought some old school Canadian wild cherry, peach, berries, drink like a club soda each one is $2.99 they have old classic Big Hunk each bar is abt $1.75 they ain't thick just got smaller. But since I don't see these items around I still purchased them. It's not everyday you find these things. Not even Crackle barrel has these. So for now I guess it's ok. But yea pretty entertaining store. It also has a very nice vaiarety on different soft drinks, wines, pastas that you dont see around anywhere i guess thats where it gets its name World Market.
