I took my wife to Pappadeaux for our Anniversary, it wasn't my first choice, but because our first choice gave us no service, we opted to come here. The place was filled, with only a few tables available. Once seated, my wife ordered a Pina colada and I ordered my usual unsweetened tea, we also ordered Calamari for an appetizer. When our server brought the Calamari we then placed our order. First, the Greek salad for two, my wife ordered the tenderloin steak with a baked potato and broccolini. I ordered the blackened Salmon with Shrimp, Scallops, and crawfish. Trying the calamari, it was rubbery and the breading was falling off as we ate it, tho the tomato sauce that came with it was pretty good. Then came the salad which was dressed and served table side. It was a very good salad and I loved the capers and olives. I was looking for the Greek peppers but none were included. After the salad came the massive plates of our entrees. My Salmon looked awesome and was cooked on point, so was the Shrimp and Scallops, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. It paired so wonderfully with the rice. It was called dirty rice but it lacked the traditional chicken livers that made this rice so famous. My wife's steak came with a huge baked potato and a big pile of perfectly cooked broccolini but her steak was way undercooked. I tried to wave a server down to take the steak and recook it, I then went to both arms waving, trying to get a server's attention. One waitress looked at me waving but ignored me, probably because I was not her table. I kept waving, a kitchen manager (I assume) walked by but didn't see me. Luckily a guest two tables down got his attention for me. He then came over to our table, he offered to do a new steak but I knew it would take to long. Instead we put the steak on a small plate so he could cook it again. I shared my plate with my wife so she could continue to enjoy our Anniversary dinner together. When he returned my wife's eyes just beamed with contentment when she saw how cooked it looked. The way to avoid this is, the server should have asked my wife to please cut into the steak, thus ensuring it has been properly cooked before leaving the table, or at least return promptly to check and see if it was cooked to her linking. We also had asked for bread, it arrived halfway through the meal. Our server did do a good job of keeping my tea glass full. The experience started out great but fell short on service and execution during the entree part of it. We did get to choose a free dessert for our Anniversary, that was nice. We opted for the Key Lime pie, we took it to go. Too stuffed to eat another bite. Honestly Folks, I liked my Salmon plate so much, I ordered extra sauce halfway through, and I left my plate completely wiped clean. I used the bread that finally arrived to clean every bit of the sauce on the plate. Feels weird writing about me pigging out, but it is true as true can get. I look forward to...
Read moreWe’ve usually enjoyed our previous experience at this location and when we decide to drive 40 minutes for a great dining experience this location is usually our first choice. Unfortunately this evening was not the dining experience we’ve come to expect especially considering the price and drive to get there. Although the hostess and waiter were very friendly some details were overlooked. After being seated and having had our bread and drinks drinks brought to us I had to go to the hostess desk to get our place settings. I ordered a glass of wine and the wine glass was dirty. I ordered the papardelle pasta and it was missing the shrimp, one of the main ingredients, so we were brought a side dish of the missing ingredient. Even though this was an oversight on the kitchen staff a good waiter should check the plate before serving, in my humble opinion. The waiter apologized for the error and said the manager would come by our table. The manager was either never told about the incident or choose to disregard the error because he never came to our table until I asked the waiter if he would be coming by. The manager THEN came to our table to ask what was wrong and I asked him if he was aware of the missing shrimp and he said yes, apologized and offered free dessert which we declined. We also felt rushed. We don’t mind pay high prices for fine dining but want to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed as we did tonight. When our ticket was brought another error was found, the waiter forgot to remove a glass of wine I returned because it was not as the waiter described. We ignored it frustrated with the entire ordeal and gave the waiter out credit card to pay. Fortunately the error was discovered and the wine removed from the ticket , additionally, the manager included a gift card which was nice, but we’d really appreciate the fine dining experience from the beginning and avoid having to compensate for errors that could and...
Read moreWe love coming here... problem is though that service is so hit or miss. This past time was awful. That last time good, time before terrible. We even sat at one of the bar booths this most recent time. It was this past Monday and we had a male bartender and I was trying to get his attention for more drinks but he was too busy talking to the other female bartenders. He brought the bread out in a bag, the other tables had cloth wrapped around their bread. Then he comes out and tells us that the baked potatoes weren't going to be ready in time for the meal. We decided to wait until it was ready. When the meal came out, no baked potato, he gave my daughter, who is 10, the shrimp basket instead of the kids shrimp, which was too spicy for her, and he was the one that told us the kids menu and that it had fried shrimp on it, we had asked for her side to be the mac and cheese. The mac n cheese came out in a big bowl but it was kraft mac n cheese, not the good mac n cheese that we thought. The manager, female, came over and it was like we were inconveniencing her, telling us that there were no more baked potatoes for the evening. She said that she would adjust the price to a kids meal. My daughter never ate either, the mac n cheese or the shrimp. A few minutes later a baked potato did show up... ugghhh. Another bartender, female, came to check on us and saw we were a mess and immediately got my daughter the shrimp kids meal. Waited forever for the tab. Never offered free dessert or anything. This is probably the last time we will eat here, which is a shame because I absolutely LOVE the food. When the tab came everything was on it, even though my daughter ended up never eating her stuff and ate off of my mother's plate because by the time the kids shrimp came it was so late. The whole experience was a...
