I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I would stop buying couches online. Even with dimensions and reviews, you never get exactly what you expected. When we were in the market for a new couch, I saw the Joybird ads on social media and was so happy to see that Joybird had a brick and mortar store nearby. From the moment we walked in, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The design consultant, Scott, greeted us and encouraged us to explore. He checked in with us throughout our time looking but was never overbearing. Once we found the right couch, we had to decide on fabrics. We tried about 10 and went back and forth on several. Scott was so patient and encouraged us to take our time. We have very messy pets (2 dogs and a cat) so that was a big deciding factor on fabric. Scott talked us through our best options as well as their specific pet insurance. We ultimately made our decision and Scott sat with us on the couch while we processed the payment. We initially wanted to use Afterpay, but once it was processed we realized that the interest was not in our best favor. Again, Scott was so patient and re-processed the entire purchase so we could pay upfront. I’ve never had such a wonderful shopping experience, let alone a furniture shopping experience which can be notoriously trying for relationships. Read moreOf all the online sofa options out there, I'm glad we went with one that had a local showroom where we could try things out in person! Scott Lee assisted my wife and I in picking out & ordering a great sectional (the Miller Double Chaise) to fit our apartment - he was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the process. We were worried about it fitting through our narrow doorways and awkward stairwell turns, so Scott's reassurances in looking at our detailed measurements and photos over email afterward was really appreciated. The communications around the order progress and delivery were great (our order was shipped about two weeks ahead of the estimated date!), and any emails I exchanged with the customer service team were promptly responded to. The delivery, which is through a third party, went smoothly.
We love our new sofa - the evergreen color and velvet fabric are lovely (classic gay green couch), and it's so comfortable. The only issue is a very minor one (and could probably be that we just didn't mount the joining bracket properly) - the two pieces of our sectional don't line up perfectly when joined; the backs are ~3/4" off from each other. Read moreI wanted to leave a GREAT review for Scott Lee at the Philly showroom. Although I sadly wasn’t able to move forward due to limitations in my space, Scott was an amazing help! I have a unique sizing situation & unfortunately the width of my unit door just won’t accommodate the piece I wanted. He was so kind, welcoming, relatable & patient throughout. I wanted to see both the Briar & Elliot sleeper sofas. He showed me a multitude of options without overwhelming me once, allowed me to test the Tempurpedic mattress for awhile, showed me fabrics in different lighting, comped sizes & was very informative. I had a very relaxing & somehow fun experience at the showroom & highly recommend him. I left with fabric samples & he made sure to follow up. Even after not being able to move forward, he kindly suggested ideas to help ease the disappointment lol. I can only assume my experience would’ve continued to be a positive one had I been able to purchase. I will hopefully be back in the future sometime for my dream sofa or other....
