Title: Beware: Love City Parking Garage's Deceptive Practices and Unreasonable Charges
I recently had an incredibly frustrating and infuriating experience with the Love City Parking Garage in Philadelphia, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal to warn other potential patrons about their deceitful practices. What I believed was a convenient $140 option for restricted car retrieval hours turned out to be a nightmare that left me feeling taken advantage of and my wallet significantly lighter.
Upon arriving at the Love City Parking Garage, I was under the impression that I could opt for a $140 fee that allowed me to retrieve my car between the hours of 3pm and 8 AM. However, to my shock and dismay, I was informed by the garage owners that my car could ONLY be parked within those designated times. This misunderstanding led to a series of unfortunate events that ultimately culminated in a staggering $590 worth of late charges.
The most distressing part of this ordeal was the garage's response to my refusal to pay such an exorbitant fee. Rather than engaging in a reasonable discussion or attempting to clarify the situation, they chose to hold my car hostage until I complied with their demands. This heavy-handed approach left me feeling utterly helpless and exploited. It is utterly unacceptable for a business to resort to such tactics, effectively using their customers' vehicles as leverage for payment.
I firmly refused to succumb to their unfair demands, as no customer should be subjected to such manipulation and intimidation. It is vital for other potential patrons to be aware of the Love City Parking Garage's deceptive practices and their willingness to exploit their customers for profit. The experience has left me not only infuriated but also deeply disappointed in the lack of ethics displayed by this establishment.
In conclusion, I strongly caution anyone considering parking at the Love City Parking Garage in Philadelphia to think twice. My personal encounter with their misleading pricing and aggressive tactics has made me realize that this is not a business that values its customers or their satisfaction. Let my unfortunate experience serve as a warning – there are far better and more respectful options for parking in Philadelphia. Your hard-earned money and peace of mind deserve better treatment than what you'll find at Love City...
Read moreI wish I could give them zero stars. I came for jury duty. Saw this lot and saw $19 for early bird special for about 12 hours, checked to make sure I was there before the specified time, knowing other lots are about $25-26 after about 3 hours in the area.
Went to check out and I was charged $40. Why, you may ask? Because when I turned in, I was given the option to check in using an app and scan a code or choose a ticket. Because I didn’t have the app downloaded or an account set up with that app, and there was an alternative way to check in, I opted to choose a ticket. Who would have sat there to download the app, make an account, and scan an app, all while people were waiting behind them to check in, too?
Apparently if you don’t use the app and scan the barcode, you don’t get the discount. At the checkout I indicated this was unacceptable, misleading advertising, and set up for people to have to pay more if they don’t know this detail. Employees argued that it “says it on the sign.” I argued, the only thing consumers are looking for is 1) price, 2) time frame, and 3) duration. No one is expecting two different modalities of payment or further fine print.
After I hammered my point home, I left and circled back to take pictures of this disgraceful misleading advertising that is literally set up for people to be scammed out of money. I mean, I’m not driving THAT fast while entering a parking garage but if a business owner is expecting that a consumer is going to read that fine print, you’re sadly mistaken. And that’s the point. I don’t think they are expecting you to read it. They’re just putting it there to...
Read moreLove Park Garage was a bargain choice for me for two days in Center City. I pre-booked through a parking booking website, and printed out my receipt with the QR code to take along. It was a bit hard to find - the entrance was actually on 15th St (Southbound toward City Hall) just after the Arch St intersection, on the right, and there is nothing to indicate it is Love Park Garage, just a Parking sign and a downward driveway. I had pre-paid for two days, which included in-and-out privileges. Still a great bargain, I paid less than one day, no in-and-out cost at nearby garages. Anyway, the reader needed a few tries to read the printed out QR code, but it finally clicked and the gate opened. Parking was easy when I got there, midafternoon on a weekday holiday. There was an elevator to street level, in the middle of the park, in a glass cubicle. To re-enter the cubicle you need your QR code again, so make sure you have it handy. There does not appear to be any other way to get into the lot, I sure would not want to walk down the car ramp. But there is most likely an emergency stairway, which I was not looking for. So, I think it was well worth the small additional effort to find it and park there even though it was not at my...
