After living here for 18 months, I would say the best part about living here is the people. Terez is so warm and welcoming and really on top of everything from keeping the building safe to being aware of who has a package to pick up. Ray is always friendly and helpful. The maintenance guys respond quickly with a friendly attitude. You can tell the cleaning staff works hard to keep the building clean. On top of this, the views from our apartment and the 23rd floor are amazing.
No place is perfect though. Aside from the views, I would say our apartment was just ok. There were places where it felt like they cut corners or did things cheap. The units are also small in terms of square footage and storage for the price.
The amenities are also a little bit of a disappointment. The building internet is really bad. I didn't really appreciate being charged an amenity fee when the building WiFi is practically unusable, the community areas are small and they limit the number of guests you can have, I didn't drink the free coffee, and I'm already paying a premium over an apartment that has no amenities. I did enjoy using the gym, but I wish they had some proper lifting equipment like a real squat or power rack. If they had that then the amenity fee would have felt worth it for me despite the other issues.
In the end though, the main reason we decided to move was the high rent. When our renewal came up, taking into account the original concessions we were given when we moved in, our rent was increased by about 15%. On top of that, our apartment was listed for less than they were asking us to pay, and they were offering new residents 2.5 months free. Why assume the cost of finding a new tenant only to have them pay less rather than try to keep us? It makes no sense. I felt like we got a really good deal when we moved in originally. If the rent increase had been more modest we probably would have stayed.
All in all, if you get a good deal on the rent and can overlook the other issues, I would still recommend living here. I still think Bozzuto is a good management company, and I honestly blame most of the issues on the builder/owner. For the right price we would consider living here again and definitely consider another...
Read moreNow that I have been here for a month I wanted to write a detailed review.
I’ve lived in a few buildings since moving to Philly, but One Cathedral Square has been my favorite by far. On my first day, someone from concierge actually came outside to meet me and my movers. Terez and Raymond are the kindest humans and check in with me whenever I walk by. They always remember my name too, which is something I’ve never experienced in a building before.
My studio was completely sealed when I moved in. I’m the first person to live in it, and it was spotless. They even left a little welcome setup with a water bottle, reusable cups, dish soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. It was such a small but thoughtful touch, and after moving all day, it honestly made a big difference.
The floor-to-ceiling windows are one of my favorite parts. During the day, the light is beautiful and calming. It makes the space feel bigger and softer at the same time.
Maintenance has been amazing. Elliot and Sheven are so friendly and fast with everything. Any tiny issue I had was taken care of right away. I actually put a maintenance request in last night, and they showed up this morning and already fixed the small issue. It’s rare to find a team this responsive, you can tell they truly care about the residents. Maya the assistant property manager is a total gem. She’s very helpful and sweet always ready to listen to any concerns. She really made the move in process feel easy and relaxed.
The building itself is beautiful and always really clean. The lobby, the hallways, even the elevators always feel fresh and well taken care of. The rooftop views are incredible, and I love that the gym and lounge areas never feel too crowded or overused.
The residents here have been surprisingly friendly too. People hold the door, say hi, and introduce themselves. It makes the space feel welcoming, not cold or distant like some other buildings I’ve lived in.
I didn’t expect to feel this settled this quickly, but I do. It just feels good here. If you’re looking for a place that feels both peaceful and...
Read moreWe loved touring this apartment - we are moving from out of state for work and had seen about 17 apartments before touring here and we were immediately impressed. First of all Michael our leasing agent was the most professional person we worked with all week, he was very considerate and comprehensive in his tour and explanations. Additionally, the concierge who I believe is named Terez was so nice from the moment we stepped in the door. We had an appointment to follow this tour and Micheal took that time into consideration even ensuring we would have time to walk the distance to the next appointment without arriving late. After our other tours of the day, nothing compared to One Cathedral Square. We returned later in the day as we saw our preferred apartment pop online and Micheal immediately sat with us upon our return to answer final questions and direct us on how to apply most efficiently. In all we applied late on a Friday and were approved with all documents signed easily and with clear communication by Wednesday. There were no surprises in the application or lease review process. Everything that we were told in terms of price and specials was accurate to what we received in writing. Once we move in I am sure we will have more to update on but for now we fully recommend scheduling a tour at this apartment, everything...
