Follow up: The worse heartbreak ever. I notice they only wear masks when servicing black people... See pics below, I will try to upload video. I make appointments. My regular person no longer works here. She use to complain at how rude the management was to her and they were racist. To the establishments credit, at that time I noticed no such thing. WELL, fast forward in time. I arrive at my appointment time 3 times to have my newly assigned tech tell me to get someone else... She doesn't feel well... All this AFTER I had a polite conversation to see if she wanted me to book with someone else. Her reply was no. I felt I had a pretty good relationship with management since I've been coming here for years, so I tried to have a conversation for resolution. I was always patronized. I've even urged management to view the cameras to no avail. If you go here, WATCH WHAT I TELL YOU... White patrons, the staff wears no face mask. Black patrons they do. Moreover, I urge you to download Microsoft translator and listen to how the staff feel about black people. I'm in COMPLETE SHOCK AS TO WHAT MY APP TRANSLATING. I'm going to leave that right there. My heart was truly broken because I swore by this place. I have more pics and will upload after I find them. If you go, look out for what I'm describing. Friendly on the surface, but you will be disappointed after while. Major decline in professionalism. I really struggled as to whether I should write this post and then thought, they didn't care how I was treated. I'm also going to file a complaint with the BBB and contact the NAACP regarding this establishment. EXCELLENT! I returned here after a few years due to another salon's unprofessionalism when I moved away from South Philly. It's so worth the hour drive. I'm never leaving AGAIN.

I have been a customer coming to this salon for over a year and I’d like to address the negative comment left by Trisha Lee as my nail tech is who she was referring to. First off my nail tech is taking a month long vacation as she works extremely hard and is accommodating to all customers just as the rest of the nail techs. I happen to be in the shop and when Trisha called as she wanted to speak with my tech. After demanding that she would want her nails done-full set and a design once my nail tech returns for free or reduced pricing based on the fact she is taking her vacation. Please tell me who wants to demand a free service all because someone is going on vacation is ABSURD! Period! Not to mention Trisha mentioned no one speaks English and she wasn’t accommodated is a LIE! Everyone in the salon speak English and understands very well. I am a black women and I understand everyone in the shop. These ladies are extremely respectful and provide courteous service at all times. Trisha needs to be honest because I heard the entire conversation. The only reason they mentioned going somewhere else is because she didn’t want anyone else to do her nails which many were willing to do and because she wanted the specific nail tech at a FREE price she threatened to leave them a nasty review. Let’s be real they are AMAZING especially my girl Judy! I have long nails and always getting designs and she KILLS it everytime. ❤️ She and the rest of the team is AMAZING so please disregard Trisha and her negativity because she couldn’t get her nails done for free when Judy returns. Judy works hard and makes every accommodation. I refuse to let somebody jeopardize her character or the rest of the ladies. Stay blessed and love y’all at South Philly Day Spa! Keep up the amazing work! 😘

The only reason i started going here is because i was following my nail tech that i've been going to for years. You can tell management is nasty to their employees that's first. Second, i've had multiple times where i pay almost 100 for gel and pedicures etc and three days later my gel is pealing and chipping off. its frustrating to keep coming back to have it fixed. they need to invest in some new polish asap. And its not just me that has that problem, i was getting a manicure and the girl next to me was getting her nails fixed after two days of having them. The only reason i gave them 2 stars is because of my tech being good at her job and thats it. Update: i now have an infection in my nail thanks to this salon. My usual girl wasn’t there so i settled for someone else. This is the result.

I got a birthday gift with was the "queen's package" : massage, facial, Mani and pedi.

Let me start by saying I don't think they know what that are doing here and I don't think they have licences.

Facial: she was nice, but she put a bunch of stuff on my face and I left feeling oily and gross.

Massage: she basically just lightly rubbed my body for a very awkward hour of my life. I've had back massages from little cousins that felt better! I asked for more pressure, to which she sighed and begrudgingly replied. But then she forgot? I asked again, but this time she had headphones in and could not hear me.

Then it got interesting, I felt a plop! And then a tiny tip, tip, tap on my butt. "This is a weird massage" I thought? It happened over and over until I realized that it was her phone, and she was actually using my BUTT to text while rubbing me with one hand. I've never felt so disrespected in my life. But I was just laying there naked and she had headphones so I couldn't get up and say anything to her or anyone else. I was literally not in a position to say anything

Pedi: same girl! She obviously had a matter at home to take care of, because texted, she rushed me, then she asked me to pick a color. but when i didn't pick in 2 seconds, she snatched the swatches and said "you pick later" and she was generally rude. other patrons in the salon were looking at me like I did something to her!

At this point I had clothes on, so I went to get someone else to finish my nails. Which was easy to do!!! And she left, all butt hurt and talking about me in her language.

Mani: I told the new women, what happened, she she just said "she probably has family problems." And tried to upsell me on gel. I said no with TEARS IN MY EYES because i was leaving not feeling like a queen, despite the $160 queen package that was supposed to be 3 hours of pampering.

I left after 2 hours of oil being drenched on my face, awkward light rubbing, butt texting, asian women yelling at me and a free gel upgrade that was supposed to compensate for everything.

One star because...

My 16 year old daughter went there for a haircut, eyebrows, gel manicure and regular pedicure. The price was $129. They did not even wash her hair prior to cutting it instead used a water bottle to spray. Her father dropped her off and I was not there to supervise because had I known she even went there I would have told her to go somewhere else from the door. She’s very dissatisfied with her hair as well as with her nails. A regular haircut without wash, style, or blow dry was 40 bucks and it’s not even straight and the layers that she did get are all over the place and choppy looking . They kept speaking in another language when my daughter was trying to tell the stylist she wasn’t happy with the hair. Seems as though the stylist got frustrated and cut off a lot more hair than my daughter asked for. They were extremely rude as my daughter was complaining. She called me as she was paying and she only had $119. They refused to let her go the $10 and her father had to rush over there because they were threatening to call the cops. I called the salon as my daughter was in there and explained my daughter was very unhappy and why didn’t they wash her hair first. The stylist tried to lie to me and say my daughter stated she just washed it and refused the hair wash. I said that is a lie you did not ask my daughter if she wanted her hair washed and then the stylist switched up and said her hair smelled good and looked clean. They totally took advantage of a minor. SMH this place is extremely overpriced for the quality of service that you receive. I already know I’m going to have to take her back in 2 to 3 days once the gel starts peeling off . I get gel at my place and always ask for three coats and my gel never ever ever comes off until they take it off. Beware of this place and do not and I repeat do not waste your money or your time!! Especially beware dropping your teenagers off because they will be taken advantage of🙅🏻‍♀️🤬😡🤬😡😪😈👿 karma is a bit** is my message to...
