Checkers — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I have mixed reviews on my experience. While the brief exchange placing my order was wonderful, all else was wrong....

I used the drive thru to order lunch for my father and I. A sweet voice coming from the speaker greeted me and prompted me to order. I ordered two specials containing 3 "checker" burgers and 1 spicy chicken sandwich. I also ordered a drink, side of fries, and a large strawberry shake. When the young woman asked what kind of drink I replied "Sprite' but then changed it to "cherry coke". The young woman confirmed my order, gave me the cost, and instructed me to pull up to delivering window.

Now Im at the window face to face with the young woman that took my order (I identified her by voice and the headset she wore). She was just as pleasant when she requested payment. I handed her my bank card and she gladly accepted as she ended the sale. She handed my bank card back to me along with napkins, straws, and a receipt.

A few moments went by and another young woman appeared at the delivering window. My order was handed to me along with drinks. Before I drove off, I asked for ketchup. The second young woman handed me my request along with well wishes and a beautiful smile.

Upon arriving at my destination, I wash my hands and excitedly rip open the bag of my anticipated lunch. The chicken sandwich was wellll ok, an over-fried chicken filet topped with the most poorly picked piece of lettuce and mayo between a stale seeded bun. It doesn't end there. Remember I mentioned "lunch for my father and I"? Well we bickered playfully over whose beef patties were smaller hidden between again STALE SEEDED BUNS. Oh the pickles on the burgers put up quite a statement as to what component was featured in this noon time disaster. To top it off my drink was actually quite refreshing besides the issue of it being a Sprite opposed to the Cherry Coke I requested. Lastly my father was very satisfied with his large strawberry shake.

In closing, my agenda was to tell a story rather than a regular dull review. I wanted to give a thorough visual as to entertain any reader that views this post. Yes the customer service was stellar however the actual service was poor. Thank you...

I absolutely love Checkers. This one doesn't have the college student type of staff. I often get home to find out they messed up the order. Well I used to, now I always check. And tonight there were 7 inebriated folk who, fortunately were extremely entertaining, unfortunately they placed a $50 order which overwhelmed the 2 employees. Does that sound right? 2 employees on a Saturday night after midnight. I don't think so. Prior planning prevents piss poor performance (private). So I've had 20 minutes so far without having even ordered. Anyway, the foods always good, when they get it right. And the price makes it an awesome value. I think this location could use better management. Can't wait to order, yet alone eat.

With regard to the no receipt issue, I would have agreed with the other person who said they don't give you a receipt because they don't want you to do the online review, and that ticks me off because I enjoy getting my free sandwich. However tonight I realized that my order which is always 9 something was an even 10 tonight and neither my order not my money went into the register.

At this checkers, I ordered a large chicken sandwich meal with the drink swapped out for a milkshake, a six piece of wings, one solo chicken sandwich, and large fries. I paid for my order and noticed a couple days later it was charged as $31 and some change even though that's not what they told me. I had ignored it as I didn't have a receipt or anything to prove this happened. Another time I ordered just a large chicken sandwich meal. I was told $11, which is obviously a lot, but I couldnt even hear her because their speaker sounds terrible. When I left my fiance was confused and said $11 is too much. I ignored it because it was late and I want to get home. The next day(yesterday) I noticed I wasn't changed the price for a normal meal, in fact they charged me $18 for just a meal. I've been going to this checkers for years and this happened out of nowhere. Pay attention, unlike me. Also, they don't hand out receipts apparently because their machine is broke.
