I gave this one three chances. My first experience here - the first service/stylist was decent and it wasn't overly crowded (it was a weekend). However, I didn't like the receptionist who looked like she'd rather shoot herself than work there. The lack of motivation from something she's getting decent wages for astound me. So I decided to give it a second shot. This time, I opted to go during a weekday. I know that it gets crowded during weekdays. However, instead of telling me they were fully booked, a stylist that I've never had before tries to 'fit me in' her busy schedule. (I highly recommend not going here or getting her as a stylist). Without even asking, she shaved off most of my hair in less than literally a minute. And she just says "oh is this okay" after the damage was done. As much as I hated it, I was still polite about it and even gave her a tip. So on the third chance I decided to give them, I called them in advance to schedule an appointment. A girl answered and she sounded very bored. I asked if there was any available time for the day. She just said, no sorry - in the worst possible 'I don't care, this call is now over' voice you can imagine. And from that moment on, I decided I'd never go here. Because the least she should have done is ask me if I wanted to reschedule an appointment to an available day instead of a plain, withered, lackluster response of "no, sorry".
No, sorry, I won't be...
Read moreHomophobic and Sexist- Avoid. I only gave a star because it was the only way to post this review. Was in town for a four day trip between work conferences with my wife, who is genderqueer and masculine. She needed her razor cut freshened up. Got to this place, in a PUBLIC SHOPPING MALL. There was nobody waiting. She was in a t-shirt that read Gay Veterans: I Fought For Your Rights. They told her 15 minutes, then immediately turned around, looked at her face and her chest, and told her no. Employee told my wife they only cut men's hair. She told them she needed a men's cut, and showed them how short her hair was. Person at the front told her "Its not the hair, we only cut MEN! Let me talk to the manager." Then proceeded to have a very public conversation with the manager, complete with pointing, about whether they would do the haircut. My wife, an Army veteran and paying customer, told them to just forget it and walked. It was homophobic, sexist, and ridiculous. You cut hair, not men; you're assuming everyone in your chairs is born male; and in case you've been sleeping, its 2017. Avoid this place at all costs. I'll be reporting this salon to other organizations...
Read moreI'll probably have to go back here because the hours are good. I think the manayunk location is decent. This place is pretty much for any middle aged man thinking he is a hot shot or a young guy who is a total tool. Once the girls realize you're normal, they treat you like you're not worth the time.
The girls act like they are doing you a favor by taking you. Last time I was in here the one girl just kept complaining that she isn't doing anymore haircuts and texted, but once some flashy 50 year old walked through, she was perky flirty and having a grand ol time. Really think this is the barber equivalent to...
