Concourse — Restaurant in Philadelphia

If I could give no stars at all I would. I was peacefully sitting on a table in the entrance way to the restroom waiting for my husband to arrive who was parking as I was walking into the restroom. The short period of time I was waiting for him to park I was approached by a few bouncers and asked to leave, I calmly and politely asked why I was being asked to leave and wasn’t given an answer, i tried showing the bouncers a photo I took of myself in the mirror in the text message that I had sent to my husband letting him know I was hiding waiting for him and asking him if he had found parking, they wanted nothin to do with my proof I was just patiently sitting and grabbed my arm pulling me off of the table that was pretty high, I lost my footing and fell into the door jam. I now not only have bruises from that but bruises on my left arm from them grabbing my arm. I was very upset not knowing what I did wrong and never received an answer. My husband let the situation go until today when my bruises were getting visibly worse. He did not see me escorted out, I did not meet up with him until I was outside of the building where he calmed me down and we left. We were greeted into another establishment by the bouncers with grace and pleasure. Never have I ever gotten kicked out of anywhere before nor acted in such way to be kicked out. Nor was I doing anything that required being handled the way I was. After reading all of the reviews similar to this I am contemplating taking legal action so that this unfortunate situation does not happen to others, men or women. Please please if you choose to go here, proceed with caution.

3/21/2019 - I am responding to your response below, and yes your surveillance would show me walking out because I was in shock for being kicked out. Your surveillance does not show the incident in the bathroom, because your not sound to have surveillance in your bathrooms, correct? Why haven’t you responded to your other complaints here on google reviews? Is it because I have taken things to the next level and have shared my story as many places as possible. Your bouncers are clearly a big problem for your establishment. I would consider new staff if you care about your patrons. How many incidents such as this exact one need to happen for you to see who is telling the truth here? My husband and I are only looking out for the safety of others. Not just from your staff but once they are kicked out you have a vulnerable woman out on the streets of philly alone. So my friends and I are at the concourse bar around 10 for his birthday party. We all dressed in suits for the theme of our crew going out. I get downstairs and notice the sticky floors and ugly decor already. Tiny dance floor that's for ants to dance on. Around 12 midnight, two of my friends and I step outside for a breather. AFter 10 minutes, my friends go in and I stay outside to breathe in a little more. Now....here comes the #$%$# up part. We all get stamped on our wrists to come back in as proof we paid the cover charge. I approach the door to go back in and the WHITE BEARDED bouncer refuses me in. He says' you dont look too good' in a very soft spoken voice. I didn't drink and wondered why the hell he would say that. I notice 2 other guys waiting to go in and the bouncer refuses them both, they're both a little tipsy but isn't everyone tipsy at a god damn club??????!!!!! 10 minutes later, I try to go in again and he refuses me again, NO REASON GIVEN TO ME as to why he's refusing me. I'm there for my friend's birthday party and I'm being singled out for NO REASON at all. All the stupid retarded bouncer says' sorry, can't let you in'. NOW.... Three black girls wanted to back in, THEY TOO were refused for NO REASON at all. 2 Brown guys were refused to back in, they were refused! One Mexican guy with tattoos and muscles popping out was refused. BUT THEN, 2 fat white girls walked right back in with no problem AT ALL. I waited another 10 minutes, and the bouncer FINALLY raises his voice and says" YOU'VE BEEN here 30 minutes, nothing's changed, go home!." ABSOLUTELY no reason given why I was refused back downstairs, I don't drink and he purposely singled mostly guys out for no reason. He's a punk with an agenda. I asked him' what's the reason you're refusing me?". He says" No, just go, no". So this bar would rather not let guys in who are willing to buy drinks or what ever ( for guys who drink) lose the money from that, and instead, favors rejecting people who wanna come back in. Some of there bouncers(older white males) are extremely rude and annoying, they assume every young looking girl is under 21 and take IDs even if there ur actual ID and make u go to the police to get them back. Also the bouncers(older white males) tend to get really agressive with poeple of color. Whether it's conscious or unconscious theres definitely some racial profiling going on, I've personally seen a black girl get accused of cutting in line just because someone else pointed in the general direction. Ive seen the same thing happen when a guy slapped my friends butt she pointed in the general direction and the just assumed it was a black guy(it wasn't). Theres just a vibe of a hint of racism (like trump suporter like) here with some of the bouncers.

The quality of the music depends on the night and who is djing, most of the time Fridays are pretty cool. The poeple there also are very different depending on the night. Sometimes it can be absolutely amazing it feel like a party at a college with just tons of I've really cool very beautiful attractive people with a perfect 65/45 girls to guys ratio. other times it can suck extremely with a bunch of weird, scraggly, creepy, unkempt 45+ year old men. That try to hit on, follow, and get uncomfortably close to young girls that are just trying to dance.

But they again this is one of the very few places in Philadelphia where it's actually a dance bar that's this big I've had great nights at concourse and made out with the five or six (looked like a good idea at the time) girls in a night. Other times I've had a horrible nights were my best friend that's a girl gets her ID taken by the boucers and we have to spend the entire night going to the police and...
