The location is convenient and reasonably priced, but the quality of men’s haircuts is inconsistent. The staff there seem to give more attention to clients getting perms or color treatments instead of haircuts. I’ve been here a few times, and even with the same barber, the results vary significantly. The barbers often misunderstand the haircut request and don’t double-check with you. They frequently appear distracted or rushed during the haircut, leading to uneven results.
Update: It appears that there is a new team of staff at this location, as a bunch of the original staff have moved to the new T-one along Cottman. The new team is notably more polite, and the barbers appear to be a bit more skilled and detail-oriented with men’s haircuts than the old ones. 但结账时的体验很差。洗头的大姐负责收款,我给了大约24%的小费,她却不断用质疑的语气问:“这是给我们两个人的吗?师傅那么辛苦,这点小费怎么分?”让我非常尴尬,最后被迫加到了36%。即使如此,她仍然一脸不满意。
其实我默认小费是主要给剪发师傅的,洗头的服务只是辅助。如果她能专业地问我希望怎么分配,而不是用这种“钱不够分”的语气,我完全可以明确表达。而她这样模糊表达、情绪施压,不仅影响体验,也对理发师傅不公平。
另外,洗头过程中她也没先试水温,直接用冷水冲我的头,再问我要不要热一点,感觉不够专业。
建议店里用电子小费分配系统,明确可选比例,避免尴尬和误会。剪发服务很棒,但这样的结账体验会劝退本来想回头的客人。 单单因为她,这次体验很差。。。。。
I had a great haircut here — the hairdresser was meticulous, attentive, and made sure I was happy with the style every step of the way. I’m very satisfied and was planning to become a regular customer.
However, the checkout experience was disappointing. I gave around a 24% tip, but the lady who washed my hair (and also handled the payment) questioned me multiple times, saying things like, “Is this tip for both of us? The hairdresser worked so hard — how can this be enough for two people?” Her tone made me feel embarrassed and pressured, so I ended up increasing the tip to 36%. Even then, she looked unhappy and repeated how hard the hairdresser worked.
I had assumed the tip would go mainly to the hairdresser — after all, he did most of the work. If she had asked professionally how I wanted the tip split, I would’ve gladly clarified. But the way it was handled felt unprofessional and uncomfortable.
Also, the hair-washing experience wasn’t great — she didn’t check the water temperature beforehand and started with cold water directly on my head.
I suggest the salon offer a digital tipping option where clients can clearly choose how to split the tip, like 80% to the hairdresser and 20% to the assistant. This would avoid awkward situations and ensure fairness.
