Pho Nam Giang — Restaurant in Philadelphia

The food tastes great but I got extremely sick from it. When I finished my pho & steak rolls started to feel sharp stomach pains and it only got worse from there. I ate from here on Saturday and it’s now Monday night and I still cannot hold anything down on my stomach from food poisoning. This was my first time at this spot and I was looking for a new pho place because I genuinely love pho and it’s disappointing I got sick. I’m not one to write reviews but I was fine before I ate from here. I might have just had a bad batch of food because others do like this place. Pretty decent place, but the Bun Bo Hue wasn't hot, not enough broth or meat. The flavors are pretty light here overall, not the hearty bowl of soup that you can get in Adams Ave or Washington Ave. The meat texture was just off-putting, hard and thick processed meat slices, and mostly bones provided. The meat tastes like it was just boiled in water separately because it had no flavor. The Bahn Mi was decent but dry, and stir fried rice was just greasy with little flavor.

Impressed by the 5 star rating, I had to see for myself. I was not disappointed. Conveniently located right off Cottman and Brous St, the atmosphere was very friendly. My wife and I started with a 12 dumpling sampler. Ask for a combo of chicken, seafood, and pork dumplings. Freshly made and delicious!
