The Metropolitan Apartments — Local services in Philadelphia

We moved here and moved from Miami and we’re happy with the building’s location and the value compared to other apartments we toured. Hands down the best pricing for size and amenities for the area. I was a bit off put when we applied as they required a significant upfront cost since my credit needs improvement but we rented a expensive luxury apartment with min money down and never missed a payment but their requirements are displayed with the quality of residents in the building.

Maintenance has been great, a new maintenance team lead by John started right after we moved in and they’ve been great along with the front desk people the experience has been surprisingly good. The building has a decent gym and basketball court, I haven’t checked out the roof yet. Overall, in our first few months here it’s been great. Maintenance has handled our issues and it’s easy to make requests and payments.

The only complaint is the noise, walls/floors are thin and our unit is facing a Main Street and the windows do not keep the noise out, there’s a barking police dog that barks during working hours and I work from home but I’ve beginning to tune the noise out. It would be great if there were package lockers for residents to get packages. without bothering the front desk. And there always seems to be dead or dying roaches in the stairwell, Gym and Basketball court.

The ownership has changed, discard the older reviews. Other reviewers have noted recent changes however my issues have been their communication.

First they switched to a third-party insurance agency and wanted everyone to follow steps for this new system. However their system failed to notify me and they charged me fees. Further, there is no email notification of charging fees. After some time I realized there is an issue and they admitted their system was broken and reimbursed my mistakenly charged fees.

Unfortunately this has happened again, a year later. Technically the recent issue is with the third-party system and different than previously, but at the end of the day, I am being charged via their Resident Portal so it is their responsibility. It has been almost A MONTH and this issue is still unresolved. I hope they become more proactive with this issue and the fix is simple; first is have a notification system on their resident portal to properly inform when they charge fees and second is to again reimburse the fees for this failure of notification.

Location-wise it's a good place though it can sometimes be noisy from Broad. Fast elevators, staff...

With my departure from The Metropolitan Apartments in Center City, to a house in the PA suburbs, I wanted to leave some observations and comments about my great experience as a resident in this building from 2013 to 2018. In respect to the Reinhold Residential management and staff, this is a group of people that truly cares about their residents and making them feel that they are at home, part of a great community, not just a source of revenue. I would especially like to thank Fran in maintenance for all of his help and Jennifer, the buildings manager, who has an incredible talent and commitment to her job. As for the building, the units are updated, well maintained, with adequate square footage in comparison to other apartments in the same location. The amenities speak for themselves. My wife held her bridal shower and we also had a brunch the day after our wedding in the buildings common area, which was a decision looking back that we could not be happier with. Making the choice on where you want to live is an important one that has a big influence on your daily life.
