If you like to wait and wait and wait some more, go with Diamond. If you actually want customer service and quick and accurate order processing, go somewhere else!
Diamond has a good mix of quality at budget prices and mid-range cabinets. It is great that you can order from one place and get cabinets, counter tops, and the plumbing. The installers from Diamond have been pretty good on the two times I have used them.
The problem is all in the sales/order process. We used Diamond 3 years earlier for a condo, but this time around has been terrible at every step.
The first sales person didn't listen, the drawings didn't match our intentions, and there were more cabinets than we had space for. This person would not adjust or clean up the design, just kept asking for the order deposit and said it would get fixed later. We starting shopping elsewhere. Later learned this person was fired as we were not the only customers struggling with this person. OK, that can happen.
The next sales person was great in the design phase. We cleaned everything up in the order and thought we were all good. The last question came by email and we happened to be driving past the store on Tatum, so we went in person, answered the open question and expected we were all set. Four weeks later the sales person contacts us asking why we haven't answered this outstanding question and we find out the order was never placed. They claimed to accelerate it, but it really was another five week wait.
When our order was delivered, it had all the right parts, but not all in the right color. We ordered white in the laundry room and wood tone in the kitchen and bathrooms. They shipped one kitchen upper and one lower as white like the laundry room! Guess what, the best Diamond can do is tell us to wait 5 more weeks to get the right cabinets. They did the install, and installed the white base cabinet in the kitchen so we could template for the counter tops, and said they would set the counter top on that white cabinet but not use adhesive and then swap in the correct base and have the cabinet installers adhere the counter on that cabinet when the cabinet shows up. No rush to fix the mistake, no real concern for the customer impact. just more waiting.
I wouldn't use Diamond again and really, neither should you...unless you like waiting and being treated poorly for a purchase as a big as a luxury car.
Update: The reorder absolutely delayed our completion time. Since this is a second home, we had to fly back to receive the replacement cabinets. Cheap and good is not fast...but Diamond easily added months to our timeline with all the "hiccups" as they describe it. Screw-ups would be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām only giving 5 stars for the gentlemen named JR who came to our house today (May 16, 2023) to fix all the errors on the cabinets that were installed in August 2022. He was very polite, professional, and did a great job! Now Bill, the salesman at the Tatum and Thunderbird location, is absolutely horrible! Super nice guy, but once you buy your cabinets, itās like he vanishes from the face of the earth! He doesnāt return emails, or let you know whatās going on with your products or services. It took almost a year for Bill to get our cabinet door and lazy susan replacement and for someone to get out here to fix other little things. We kept getting the runaround from him that the shop wasnāt picking up the phone or returning his calls⦠he also blamed the HUGE delay on Covid⦠I wouldāve been completely fine to wait this long if Bill actually reached out to us and gave us updates on what was going on, but he never did. He kept us constantly in the dark⦠We had to reach out to Alex, another sales rep from the same location, to get Bill to reach out to us on 2 different occasions. Alex even left a note on his computer for Bill to get ahold of us, but Bill never did. When JR came out here to replace a door and lazy Susan shelves, Bill didnāt put in our request to fix the other problems we had since our cabinets were installed (chipped drawer, warped cabinet doors, rough spots on wood where the finishing was coming off, spacing errors on trim, spacing errors on doors, stain issues). We even told Bill about the issues about a week after install in August 2022⦠and like I said⦠it took almost a YEAR to get someone out here to fix things⦠When JR got here, Bill only told him about 2 of our issues (the warped door and the wrong equipment for the lazy Susan shelves⦠they gave us plastic shelves instead of the wood shelves we paid for) and didnāt put our other cabinet issues down at all. I felt bad for JR because he had no idea about our other issues because it was never put on his work order. JR did everything he could to fix things. Itās because of JR that we will still continue to give Diamond our business, BUT I will no longer deal with Bill, or the Tatum and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to work in kitchen design at the Home Depot. I knew that it was going to probably cost us $30,000 or more for new kitchen cabinets and countertops in our house. That pretty much would obligate us to finance it. I'm also in real estate and I have listed and sold clients homes that really needed a new kitchen in order for them to get highest and best return on selling their home. I had heard about diamond kitchen and bath so I referred a client there. They absolutely did the most amazing job on replacing their kitchen cabinets and countertops and my client did in fact list and sell their home with me and got highest and best. So we are now at a point of really wanting to probably needing to replace our kitchen cabinets and we do want quartz countertops. I spoke with Randy at the Thunderbird and Tatum location. Randy thinks that we can do the entire thing for under $20,000. He actually said about $15,000 but I have a feeling that I would be adding some things like crown molding, a light rail, soft closing so I am adding a little extra to what he said. I am super excited because this is potentially within our cash budget. I have seen their work and I can honestly say that they have done an outstanding job and I am certain that we will go with diamond kitchen and bath. I have also seen Home depot's work and it is also good but really expensive and I'm not quite sure that I can recommend why someone would choose to spend more. On a separate note we did also receive a quote from the Home Depot to replace all of our windows. The quote was $9,000. Another real estate agent was telling me that they replaced all of their windows with a company called window World. I contacted window World and they replaced all of our windows with the same quality that Home Depot quoted and out the door it cost us $5,500. Sometimes dealing with the smaller family owned companies that have been around a long time makes a whole lot more sense than dealing with a big huge box store....
