This should say ZERO stars. My wife and I bought our recliners/extended warranty in April 2018 from another Lazy Boy. I called to let the corporate store, we bought the chairs from, know that that the left arm of the chair was becoming loose. They informed me it takes 4 to 5 weeks to get the part ordered and I should just talk to the nearest Lazy Boy to my new home. I went in and was told that indeed it takes 4 to 5 weeks for the part and since do not own a truck they charge for pick up. I had a while to figure out how to get them the chair myself and avoid the $75.00 charge transport. Last Thursday 2 gentleman (very pleasant) show up to pick up the chair, to my surprise. I did not get a phone call. I later found out they had written the number down wrong. I was about to tell the men that I would deliver the chair myself, when I noticed that there was no charge on the paperwork they handed me. I allowed them to take the chair figuring the fee was waived due to my warranty. Low and behold when the young lady called to arrange for the chair to come back she mentioned the fee. I was again surprised. I told her that the paperwork did not indicate a charge in the total column and would not have released the chair to them if that was the case. Of course, she told me to look in the "NOTES". Where it was stated that I was "QUOTED" $75.00 for transport, however in the total column it was not actually charged, everything showed ZERO. She told me they HAVE to do it that way, which makes no sense at all. In my opinion this is a deceptive practice and is intentionally misleading. We purchased our chairs from Lazy Boy believing we were getting a quality product from a quality firm that would last. Instead we got a low quality product that broke within 4 months of purchase. We also paid for they additional warranty that was represented as a comprehensive warranty, which it turns out is not. I asked for a deduction in the fee citing the situation (the young lady on the phone) told me that (the manager Ben) would not budge on the fee. Suffice it to say that my experience with Lazy Boy Cerritos and Lazy Boy Pheonix Oregon has left a bad taste in this consumers mouth. I should have stuck with Ashley Furniture. We bought chairs from them that lasted us more than 10 years with no issues. Lazy Boy you've shown your true colors and at this point I will NEVER buy from any of your stores again due to deceptive business practices and shoddy workmanship. I will do my best to discourage anyone I know from buying Lazy Boy by citing my bad experience.
November 20th in response to your comment about it being clearly marked on the paperwork given to me by the drivers. It is not "Clearly Marked" it is not even noted as a Charge it was tucked away...
Read moreI would rather remain standing than ever purchase another La-Z-Boy anything. The customer service at their Phoenix OR store was appalling. We purchased two love seat recliners costing about $7k and within a couple of months one of the seats sagged. The corporate headquarters has it such that you can't reach anybody by phone and the manager at our local store has apparently never heard of a diary electronic or otherwise, to have the courtesy to call us back as to when we can expect repairs They want us to keep calling every couple of weeks. I strongly feel we would have got better quality and customer service had we purchased elsewhere. This saga has been going on since December last year, and we wish we had never set foot in this store. 3 days later.. .. 2/26/24 4:30pm Store manager called to inform me the parts for the sofa are in his store (sofa springs & sofa foam) BUT because I wrote the above review he was going to retaliate by not having his service department install them. He expected me to pick them up and slice open the leather and put them into the sofa. The sofa came with a warranty for 1 year, in addition We paid $150 per sofa for a prorated warranty plan for 5 years and this is how this Store manager treats customers. Apparently, they also tell me they do not have an assistant store manager. I have lodged a complaint with Consumer protective services in my state and based on the outcome, may have to consider taking La-Z-Boy store and corporation to court. I am hoping it doesn't...
Read moreWe special ordered 2 matching electric recliners, with one to have a firmer seat, at the Phoenix, Oregon, store. Chose this chair after sitting in gazillions in several stores, as it wasn't painful with husband's serious back problems. Chairs arrived with very different amount of padding in lower back of chair than in the "floor model" that we'd chosen, and they don't even match each other in padding! Husband can not sit in it comfortably. Called that day & left a message, called back when messge not returned, talked to smiley salesman Marvin who wouldn't be in store on Sunday when husband would next be in town. Husband visited with manager in the store today, Sunday, showed him photos of difference between floor model and what we got, and received the corporate speech. Store Manager Allen said there's slight variation in construction, all padding is laser cut and is the same, (even though there's over 1" less protrusion in floor model lower back that what we got, which is not the same), and we could exchange within 30 days for something on the floor. Really. So, if we did that, we'd now have 2 very expensive electric recliners that don't match. To order something different, it's a 50% restocking fee. STRONGLY CAUTION YOU TO NOT SPECIAL ORDER FROM LAZY BOY IF "FIT" IS CRITICAL. Since receiving the chairs, husband has looked at reviews online, and it seems fairly common with LazyBoy to not receive exactly what was ordered. What a shame. We...
