I wasn't expecting much. I'm a trucker and most of these truck stops have gone down hill over the years. I sat down and ordered the breaded whitefish dinner from the extremely short menu selection. I was expecting overcooked small portions. Well I was surprised. There was a large portion of fish cooked perfectly. A large baked potato (which is rare everywhere else). And the corn was also good (just slightly overcooked because of a lack of moisture). The enchilada soup was good (not great) but much better than the other option. I didn't really care for the black beans that was is it though. Otherwise pretty good. Waiter also did a great job. Price was on par with every other Petro. Prices just keep going up. In this case I got my money's worth. If I had to complain it would be the chairs and tables. Comfortable and sized for us XL guys but everything was slightly sticky. Please change from whatever cleaner/sanitizer you use. I couldn't slide across the cushion. I had to rotate the chair (which turned on its own...

This is a Truck Stop Dinner. Walk in and a truck stop mini-mart to the right and the dinner to the left. The menu has just enough variety and not too much. Too much selection of food you can order means questionable freshness of your food. Less variety means there’s a turn over of what’s being ordered. So I am okay with a sparse menu, or maybe the menu didn’t have their selection crowded in on the paper? The meal was good, and it seemed a good value to me. The waitress was good. Was there when I wanted her attention and only then. I don’t like being harassed by a waitress constantly asking me if the food is good. If you have to ask, then it ain’t. I’m not paying to being forced to talk to the waitress every few minutes with food in my mouth and my waitress didn’t do that, she let me eat. Again the meal was good.

The only negative was the men’s restroom. There was one toilet stall the was close off with an out of order sign and it smelled like they’ve been marinating a bowel movement in...

It's funny.... Is a local Phoenix resident...I initially went to Debby's Diner. I sat at the counter like I was invisible....with are arms stuck to the sticky countertop. After 9 minutes...I walked out and drove down the road wondering 🤔 where else to get breakfast when I remembered the Iron Skillet. I walked in there and was greeted immediately by a charming and wonderful waitress named Brenda. My food came almost as quickly as I wasn't seated. The place was spotless clean, the food was delicious and plentiful, and price-wise a better value by far! I'm going to start making the Skillet my first stop here in my hometown..... great food, great service, and all at very reasonable price! Well done gang....I'll be back for sure! No WONDER the Truckers love this place 🫡
