Bought the passion fruit infused honey two months ago and finally opened it to find it full of mold. Was told to refrigerate after opening. Contacted the owner who now states it should’ve been refrigerated from the beginning. My husband and I both heard him say refrigerate after opening the first time. He offered to replace it but he “forgot” to bring it when I said I was coming to the market he was attending therefore wasting my time. Did not offer any other resolution but offered to buy more products. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that we understood incorrectly and I hate poorly reviewing small businesses but this interaction was definitely all smiles when you’re buying and the complete opposite when something goes wrong with their product. I threw out the jar and didn’t take a picture of the label myself but the business owner posted the bottle of honey himself where it says refrigerate AFTER opening right before I posted this review. It’s unfortunate because the honey really was good when we sampled before buying.
Edit to add more “context”: The day of the event when I introduced myself as the person who had the moldy honey, the business owner proceeded to tell me he forgot the product, shrugged his shoulders & said “that was two months ago”. Does that sound like someone interested in offering a resolution? When I reached out initially I mentioned it had been about a month, I did not remember the exact date. Nonetheless I was advised it had a good shelf life if I refrigerated after opening & found it full of mold when I did open it when it was just under two months old. The owner proceeded to offer to look at the other products, and when I told him we haven’t even been able to check out the first product we bought he once again did not attempt to offer a resolution in person. I advised the business owner through IG because he reached out to me due to my review, that our market experience left us uninterested in a resolution as he did not make an attempt to offer a different resolution at the market but he is trying now that he got a bad review. Additionally, the honey was stored in my pantry just like my regular honey. A cool controlled environment. Once again, the business owner is attempting to shift the blame to someone else not accepting the fact their product did not perform to the expectation they set. They also never “asked for the picture” because I sent it to them as soon as I saw the mold and messaged them. The business owner explained he had a family emergency that affected his ability to bring his products to the market, but it still does not excuse this back and forth we are having. The honey was good when we sampled it. Eat it fast and be sure to refrigerate as soon as you take it home unlike what the owner and...
Read moreThiago is amazing and his products are fantastic! I was putting together a gift for my father and Thiago worked with me to find the best products for my needs. Communication was amazing and he even delivered! The juice is delicious and is now a staple in my home. I also highly recommend the sauces and vinegars. The freeze dried passion fruit cubes are my absolute favorite though. I use them over parfaits or just snack on them. They’re a perfect healthy alternative for sour candies! I will absolutely be purchasing more for myself and future gifts. I cannot recommend...
