I went to your Pinellas Park location today to grab a few Tampa Bay Rays shirts. I walk up to the section that has everything for the Rays. Very nice selection and very well taken care of. As I walk in there is a sign that states “ HOT DEAL Tampa bay Rays apparel 30% off” So as I am looking, I see these Jerseys that is not only next to but touching the 30% off sign. I will be honest 155$ jerseys aren’t my thing but for 30% of I would get one. Now as I am going through the jerseys there is a nice lady there very polite and asks me if I need any assistance. I replied “ No ma’am I going to take advantage of this sale and a grab a jersey or two. She said “ Ok if you need anything I am right over here” Now I get to the register they ring up my items and the jersey comes out full price, so I ask the man behind counter, he calls someone, and they say yes, the apparel is 30% off , he then tells the person he needs an override. Shortly after 2 women come up and one firmly stated” that jersey is not on sale I should have read the fine the print. I said excuse me I apologize I did not read the fine print because your sign was touching and closest to the exact jersey I am trying to purchase. She then said “ well its on the print and walked away with the other woman” I then told the man I did not want any of the Went back to get a picture of the sign. I went back to counter and showed the man the picture and asked who the manager on duty was. To my surprise he said it was those ladies that came up earlier. That blows my mind as I am in the retail business. So, I asked what he thought “he said is should have read the fine print” I do understand there is things that can not be discounted , but sign placement is a huge deal. They wanted to do nothing do with helping me or explaining it was simply a mistake, it was immediately my fault. Made me feel foolish. If they were nicer instead of blaming me, I would have just...

I went in last night asking if I can exchange an item without the receipt and a gentleman at the front said it was possible as long as I have the credit card I used to purchase it. I also called ahead asking if I could do the same thing and they said yes.
I went in the store, left the item at the front with them and went to go find an exchange for the item. As I was checking out, the cashier (Gary) told me to insert, swipe, tap, swipe, then insert my card again and said that he was not able to pull up the purchase but then he asked and confirmed the price of the item with me and I said yes. How did he know exactly how much the item was if he wasn’t able to find it on his end?? He went ahead and called his manager explaining what was going on and as he was explaining, he told the manager that I didn’t have my card on me when I obviously had it in my hand swiping and tapping away at the cash register. He proceeded to make an excuse saying the system was not pulling up the purchased item, because I used the tap on my card to purchase that item I was trying to exchange?? Which is very strange to say because almost everybody has tap. He told me he needed to scan some kind of barcode that would be on the receipt and said he was not able to continue the exchange. I was quite upset and annoyed at the same time because why would I go in if I needed a receipt to return something?
So my husband went in this morning to exchange the item and two nice ladies at the front completed the exchange with absolutely no problem!! I don’t know if it was me or the guy didn’t know what he was doing but I felt embarrassed I wasn’t able to return the item when I was by myself at night. I bought an item from this company online with instore pickup. My purchase was made on December 30th, but because of the holiday I wasn't able to pick it up until January 8. When I arrived on the 8th, I was told my order was picked up on the 3rd. I advised them that I had never even been to the store before and that an error must have occurred. I have lived in Florida for 7 years now after living in the Midwest my whole life. My Florida expectation is that customer service does not exist. However, Academy Sports employees, about 5 of them, were extremely patient and nice. They went out of their way to figure out what had happened and find my item. Ultimately, they refunded the purchase because they did not have that item in stock to replace it with. However, shortly after that they realized that the order was mislabled with another customer's order and while the items were correct, the labels were wrong - which caused my item to appear picked up when they picked up theirs. Long story short, these guys went out of their way to resolve this issue and provided amazing customer service.
