The store is dirty and junkie with pallets blocking aisles and merchandise on the floor. For such a large store, they have a boring selection of low quality, overpriced merchandise made almost exclusively in China. Almost everything in the store could be purchased elsewhere for less than their regular prices.
Today, they are having a clearance sale with all merchandise marked with a red slash through the upc half off, except not really.
After sorting through the mess, I found 3 prints on a Paris theme that I wanted to get for my daughter. All in the same section of clearance merchandise, all with red Sharpie mark through that appeared to be made by the same hand. After checking out I looked at my receipt to find the most expensive item charged at full price ($29.99, half the total of my order). A cashier called next and I stopped and ask him why. He told me if I looked at the sign he would see that it said that prices that don't ring at clearance are the price that comes up. I asked for a refund and he told me to go to the back of the line and wait. He was rude and seemed to imply that I was the one who marked through the price. While this implication annoyed me, being sent to the back of line to fix a mistake made by an At Home employee that made me livid. I was going to get this name to let the Manager know that he had treated a customer rudely. When my turn came, after some delay, I returned to the same register and saw the name Rashawn and identified him as manager. He confirmed he was the Manager and I asked him if he treated all of his customers rudely. He offered no apology and no explanation and I asked who above him I could speak with. He said "no one, I'm the boss".
Rashawn is a very poor example and an embarrassment to At Home. He acted as though my business wasn't appreciated and treated me as if I were a criminal or in the wrong. I will not be returning to this store so long as he remains "in charge". I will also advise all of my social media contacts and every place I can post a review how I was treated at this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been trying to talk my boyfriend into a nice artificial Christmas tree for 12 years. He finally consented to getting one this year. I told him we needed to go to At Home as they would have the best selection at the best price. We went in the morning and selected a tree that met our needs. We had help from a guy named Enoch. He answered all our questions and gave us great customer service. We purchased this tree in a big box, got it home and started assembling the tree. When we opened the box, there was a broken cap that we were not sure if it just was part of packaging but we could not get the base of tree (the center stalk) into the floor base. It was too large to fit. We packed everything up and went back to the store where we were told to get into the line that had about 10 people waiting to purchase items. I walked the store looking for help while he stood in line and saw no help. When I joined him in line, I could see Enoch at a cash register. When we got up to the register, he was the one who helped us. After we told him the problems. He asked how could he take care of us and we would have been satisfied to exchange it for another one of the same style thinking we got a dud. He asked permission to close the register to help us, and was given that. We went to the area where that style was stored and there was 2. He opened both and neither one fit in its base. I said someone had put the display model together and maybe we are missing something. He said the guy who put them together was in the office. He went to get him and came back saying that person said to tell us to āCALL THE MANUFACTURER!ā He also said it wasnāt their problem (At Home, I assume). He said he wouldnāt come out of the office. I canāt believe this. Instead of selecting another model, we got a refund and went to Peppermint Forest and purchased a tree. Yes, much more expensive but it went up in a snap and has a10 year warranty. As we left At Home we notice about 3 other tree boxes along the front wall where the returned items...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTheir return policy is ridiculous. You have to keep the box and return everything the way you bought it. We had a small car so we had to take the table out of the box and put it into the car. Drove it home 30 minutes away and carried it up two flights of stairs. There were some scratches and dents but we were willing to work with those small imperfections. We start putting it together and that's when we realize that the table is a defect and is missing a part to complete the ensemble. We had to repack it and drive back to garden ridge to get another table. Only after tolerating their horrible customer service and attitude of the employees were we able to get another table. We're lucky we got the table at night and not during the day because we had put the box near a dumpster trusting Garden Ridge to sell quality items. Horrible experience. Be wary of their products. For $300 you would think their tables would be at...
