Please do not be fooled by the hype on IG. While the food is good, you are going to wait at least 1.5 hr to begin seeing any site of food coming to the table. At least that was our experience at 1pm on Saturday. It was practically empty in there but they only had two wait staff working and one doubled as the bartender and waitress and the other as hostess and waitress
Before I go in further on what all didn't go good, I want to commend Brie and Nakita for their composure and ability to not crack under pressure. They were overly apologetic for the wait and were very friendly and transparent about the staffing issues. They honestly did the best they could do and served us throughout with respect and a smile. I was upset however to see the GM was there but she was sitting with a group of ladies laughing and talking while her staff was drowning with tables.
Now back to the experience - so we were a group of 6 adults, 1 toddler. We were seated right away. Restaurant was empty but they cramped us into a booth with two additional chairs. After about 20 mins of waiting, the waitress who was also the host comes backs over very apologetic but is ready to get our drinks. Of course we ask her what's good on the menu and what she'd recommend. I kid you not...everything she recommended or we already had in mind for ordering was unavailable - short rib, crab mac n cheese, Thai wings, sweet chilli wings, I could go on. How a restaurant can be out of top sellers at the beginning of lunch and the restaurant is empty baffles me. That really should have been our queue to leave but we had already setup up shop and all parked far away. So another 30 mins go by and still haven't received our drinks....which were EXPENSIVE. Another 30 mins go by and we still didn't receive any food - apps or mains. Finally after about 1.5hrs we start to get some food and drinks and it came out as it was available and I mean that. Two ppl ordered the spinach wontons as apps and only one person received theres...wouldn't you fry them together???
Anyways...the food we did have was really good outside of the hot honey chicken sandwich. Two ppl in our ordered that and was not impressed with the chicken to bread ratio and the chicken was under cooked. Spinach wontons very tasty, deep fried devil eggs-good, salmon & grits- good, fries good, wings fried well however lacking true lemon pepper seasoning, onion ring tower...not much of a tower, well seasoned but came out cold and just on a plate. Drinks - old fashion- $20, margarita - taste like juice and $18, green tea shots - $15!!!!! Those usually are $6 at most.
So 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. We asked our waitress to remove it and we'd tip accordingly. Of course she didn't want to b/c that's how she gets paid but she offered to make adjustments to the bill considering the wait and service that was out of her control. Honestly she was hustling the entire time so we understood and appreciated the offer. Long story long....we wanted to love this place but did not and would not return. Hopefully Nakita and Brie can find another restaurant to work at b/c they...
Read moreMy friend and I ventured to this restaurant with hopeful anticipation, only to be met with disappointment at every turn. The first strike against it was the exorbitant prices littering the menu. Not only were the dinner and cocktail options limited, but they were also outrageously priced, with cocktails ranging from $17 to $20 each. Regrettably, the cocktails themselves were underwhelming, drowning in ice and offering little to justify their steep cost.
Our dissatisfaction continued with the food. We opted for the chicken wings, only to encounter one that was inadequately cooked, necessitating its return to the kitchen. Even when properly prepared, the wings were decidedly average, offering nothing beyond what one might find at a typical fast-food establishment like Wingstop—albeit without the accompanying fries combo. Additionally, it was disheartening to learn that several menu items, including lobster, mac and cheese, and collard greens, were unavailable that evening, echoing a common complaint from previous patrons.
Further exacerbating our disappointment was the malfunctioning beer tap and the amateurish appearance of the menu, which appeared to be hastily constructed in Microsoft Paint. However, the most egregious misstep was the imposition of a $10 gratuity on our $59 bill for just two diners. While I typically tip unless the service is egregiously poor, this forced gratuity struck me as unjustifiable, particularly given the lackluster experience overall.
Despite the shortcomings, our waiter provided commendable service, a rare bright spot in an otherwise lackluster affair. In the end, my friend and I sought solace elsewhere, opting to visit Dave and Buster's instead. There, we found reasonably priced drinks and a far more enjoyable atmosphere, underscoring the stark contrast between our disappointing dining experience and the pleasant alternative offered by another establishment.
In conclusion, while our waiter demonstrated excellence in service, the restaurant as a whole failed to meet even the most basic expectations. With overpriced fare, mediocre food quality, frequent menu shortages, and questionable billing practices, it's difficult to recommend this establishment. Here's hoping for significant improvement...
Read moreI was invited to a birthday brunch by my friend who made a 1:00 reservation. Most of us arrived on time. We were seated in multiple tables, some with our backs to each other but I guess that was doable. I went to the bathroom and the server had come to the table. I wasn’t left with a menu. Maybe she didn’t see me but when she came back out she still didn’t bring me one. We were served waters and ordered drinks. Two people ordered the fried deviled eggs appetizer and another the spinach puffs. They were brought out but we had to request silverware. For the main course I ordered the lamb chop meal, two friends ordered the steak fritts, and the other the chicken and waffles. After a while the server comes back and says they were out of steak and the chicken meal because of a busy valentine’s week. The replacement orders was a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp on the side, fried shrimp and fries, grill shrimp and fries. After another while the fried shrimp was brought out first. My friend found it unsatisfactory. It was too heavily breaded. The Cesar salad was brought out next, the lettuce wasn’t fresh and the shrimp were greasy and tasted like the grill, no seasoning. The lamb chops and mash were good. Guess they were easy to cook and couldn’t go wrong. The rest of the party had similar to worst complaints. A lot of people sent their food back. They wasn’t charged for it but I hope the overall service gets better. We had to ask for refills of water and extra silverware and my friend that ordered the grill shrimp and fries never received her order. The website said the restaurant opened at 11. Our reservation was at one. They should’ve been more prepared. In anticipation, I had reviewed the website and menu before going. The setting and ambiance is beautiful especially to me being a music lover. A little bit more light for the visually impaired would be appreciated as well. But I’ve honestly have never experienced service like...
