Great to see that they have extended the light rail beyond Gateway to North Side and Allegheny with plans to go even further.
The station serves all three lines of the Pittsburgh Regional Transit system - Blue Line, Red Line and Silver Line - between North Side (towards Allegheny) and Wood Street (towards SouthHills Village or Library). The station is underground and is protected from the elements.
It is handicapped accessible with elevators and escalators which lead to a single island platform that has two tracks. The station is in the "free fare" zone so no tickets are needed but if you're headed to the "paid fare" zone, you will need a ticket from one of the vending machines here.

   Read moreI came to town for a Steelers game. The ride from downtown to the North side is free. Cant beat that. I know that you can walk for free too, but when I was there the temperature did not get above 15 degrees.
The stations are clean, as are the trains.
If you are going to ride somewhere that requires a ticket, make sure you have exact change for the machines that dispense...
