Lots to improve here GE- Another 45+min wait at your local giant eagle pharmacy! All we came for was the Flu vaccine for 1 kid, thought it would be fun to see this new location, but not enough pharmacists seems to be the norm no matter how fancy the exterior is. All the isles block your view of the actual line - So we thought we were in line for the pharmacy, but alas 5min later we notice the real line is in the center isle that you can’t even see, there are zero signs helping customers, during the very long wait people are trying to get by us and our cart, which is simply bad planning, it’s crowded and stressful. Pharmacists were great! We were told we would get 10% off, and since the wait was so unbearably long with two tiny kids, we shopped for things for that 10% off + we probably shouldn’t have even bothered because … 10% did not apply to our $100+ grocery bill - I was told to “wait 24hrs” - oh yeah, no one told us that, we would have had to look at tiny print ads to know this. seriously, you just scanned my info & you can’t apply that info during checkout? Why are you making people come back after they were coaxed into shopping? We are in an AI world, catch up, auto add those perks at checkout, please, or people feel duped. items didn’t come up on sale that we knew of, who knows what else didn’t show up on sale, I was so exhausted and this was not a fun experience at all. Noticed a lot missing from the other store, they have 100 candy apples from my hometown in Ohio, but the freezer section is really tight, the pancakes my daughter loves we couldn’t find, breakfast section is tiny. After customer service: We literally got here at 4:06 and didn’t get out until 5:30. I did not feel good about this customer service was nice, but I would rather chew off my right arm than attempt to...
Read moreso, from the outside, the glass and metal facade of the new techno-look of modern architecture, this place looks just like the Whole Foods half a mile away. Once inside, it's Giant Eagle. no Turner's Dairy milk no Seven Stars yougurt (made in Pennsylvania) cheese that is superlative expensive, and considering there is a Trader Joe's cheese selection literally across from the street, Penn Ave, one has to wonder why I should purchase the Goat made in pittsburgh cheese at $24.95/lb no San Pellegrino orange soda, Target in East Liberty sells it the sparkling water San Pellegrino was priced at around $3/bottle, quite high the good news is that a single bagle is just $1.19
Kind of miss the good ol' Shakespeare Plaza GE, with its chaotic scene, the bulk food offers, the piles of collard greens. And next to the state wine store, with alcoholics rushing in to get their fix.
glass and metal modernist style, I don't like you. Liked more the dirt, the grime,...
Read moreI was eager for the chance of this — but severely let down. Absolutely zero security. They literally let in someone with some face cover who’s threatening to rob, shoot, or stab the rest of us. I just wanted to eat. But I was scared to go in, seeing they let someone in threatening violence. Humans show their faces and it’s sad that the lack of security allowed in some terrorist threatening violence. It’s time for that to stop. They need proper security at the door and to keep...
