Merante's Bloomfield — Local services in Pittsburgh

Merante's is one of the few places in Bloomfield that is still honoring the legacy of Pittsburgh's Little Italy. 🇮🇹 Maria and her staff give wonderful customer service and they are keeping Italian traditions alive. The front of Merante's is a gift shop with Old World treasures. In the back -a kitchen reminiscent of my Italian Great-Grandmother and Great-Aunt's basement kitchen in their Larimer home where Christmas Eve fishes were cooked and wedding cookies were baked. Merante's Facebook page showcases what's on the menu. When we visited we purchased Ricotta Pie (Italian Cheesecake), Easter Bread and Nut Roll to have for our Easter dessert. Everything was delicious. These baked specialties can only be created by someone with generational cooking experience. Found this place living at children’s hospital, everyday I just wanted to leave and go here. Never knew what the menu would be like you would just have to go and see for yourself. Something new always. My husband swears they have the best wedding soup hands down. Im completely obsessed with the carrot cake and I will never be able to go or get it anywhere else. Best carrot cake ever! The staff and owner are super friendly and very easy to talk to. Need a laugh they chuckle and make the day a little brighter. We ordered THANKSGIVING DINNER @ MERRANTES'!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I truly can not say 1 thing bad about any of it! BRAVO, to the Chef!
