RUDE STAFF and SNEAKY OVERCHARGE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. When I asked the staff about prices of some items, they were impatient and rude. However, (I noticed this for multiple times) the staff is ONLY POLITE TO KOREAN CUSTOMERS. To others, they switch to their "RUDE" mode.
Once, when I was waiting for the checkout, one of the staff (a lady) scanned things I bought while chatting to a korean customer, and when she's done scanning, she THREW a paper bag onto the counter. The freaking paper bag scraped my face!!! She didn't even say sorry and just keep chatting to the customer. Like she's implying I need to bag things I bought by myself. She literally was just so nice to the korean customer she was talking to when checking out her stuff. She even gave her free snacks.
Plus, lots of items in the store WERE NOT priced. That's why I had to ask the staff about their prices in the first place. Worst of all, once I got charged for something TWICE when I only bought ONE!! I immediately went back to store to ask for a refund. Also, I just realized many people had similar experience in the review section!! This is RIDICULOUS!! How could someone do this under CCTV? I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS...
Read moreA broad range of product, many Korean and Japanese. Many frozen items, some fresh produce as well. The produce looked pretty nice considering what I imagine is a small volume operation.
One of the things that is a little odd about this place is that very few items have prices on them. I didn’t feel comfortable calling the cashier around with me to check on prices for things, so I just threw them in my cart. I was a little surprised to pay $8.99 for a kewpie mayo, something I’ve purchased elsewhere much lower. Overall, location is great if you’re walking from Oaktown or CMU, but if you have transportation, head down to the strip where you’ve got more options and better prices.
Cashier was effectively helpful. No Amex or Disco...
Read moreI actually like this store. I really don't care if the owners speak to me or not. They see me come in and I spend money. As long as they don't spit on me or call me obscene things in Korean because I'm Black, I don't care. Sometimes I try my hand at greeting them in Korean. If no response...okay no response. My one thing that I really don't like is there are no sales tags on the food. I think that is not a good business tactic. Otherwise you can get some nice produce you wouldn't necessarily find at the local supermarket. Oh yeah. Don't expect other Asian foods in a Korean market. Somebody was complaining about dim sum. Just get you some...
